I thought the reference was totally uncalled for.
Louis should not have brought the black issue to the xfactor. He just wanted to jump on the Obama bandwagon............. |

I didn't get what the fuss was all about either.
Some thicko yanks have adopted a mindless chant about their new Tony Blair style president-elect and apparently that's supposed to be something that's hilarious when repeated on X Factor?

I think the issue was that JLS are black and a few people thought that because Louis used Obama's slogan towards them, it was therefore racist, but that is just a bit OTT and a severe case of stupid PC.-If Gordon Brown had the same slogan and Louis used it towards a white group no one would think nothing of it.

It was unnecessary.
If Lois had said "Like Martin Luther King, I have a dream that you will X factor". Many people would have thought WTF?! |

Dermot is pathetic, he's such a crappy host.

Just one quick point here - Barack Obama is not black, he's mixed race as his mother is white.

If Lois had said "Like Martin Luther King, I have a dream that you will X factor". Many people would have thought WTF?! Mentioning perhaps the most significant event in African American history since the Civil War in the same sentence as a mediocre group on a reality TV contest? Yeah, OK. Anyone see the Mirror's front page the day after Obama won? It said "Obama's got the X Factor". I thought that was equally tacky but typical of the tabloids. Maybe Louis was referencing that. Either way it was cringeworthy. |
