Yes.. there are a number of ways

1) Open Safari and go to www.meebo.com or www.ebuddy.com

2) If you have the 2.0 firmware, go to the appstore and search for IM+ Lite or for a pay alternative try BeeJiveIM

For me, 'Fring' works best. It might not have all the bells and whistles but it works brilliantly.

I do miss Agile Messenger from 1.1.4 jailbreak mind. Wish they would update that.

Palringo allows you to have all of your chat programs together in one place and it was free.

These apps will be better when they offer push notifications though. Hopefully the next software update will sort that. It's certainly in the pipeline.

I have fring, but for some reason it doesn't like sending or recieving messages. My mum keeps thinking i'm ignoring her

It'll send and recieve maybe one message, but after that i get no responses from anyone, and they don't recieve my messages

I use Palringo which is available in the app store. Still waiting on Adium for the iPhone though
