Pasadenas are the last great British band of that genre, that's why I like jls love that style of music

Great song but the Pasadenas covered the American band 'New York City' who first brought out 'I'm doing fine.'
That probably should disqualify it from British Greats but since they make up the rules as they go along, it would be a superb choice for JLS.

Aww Lady Raven - I thought you had posted 'Tribute - Right On' Brilliant Track! Loved the Pasadenas. 'I'm Doing Fine' is ok, but it's just a cover of an earlier New York City track. American really. The Pasadenas wrote 'Tribute' themselves, and what a corker it is: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=sXrbgXXxQUE

Ok here's one! How about the (hugely underrated) Andrew Roachford's 'Cuddly Toy'. 100% British, and a fantastic artist, great songwriter and still gigging. I think they could do a blinding version of this!

I was just looking up Billy Ocean an I think he is counted as British, so when the going gets tough is another possibility
