Here's what I listened to straight afterwards:

zounds,
i know you would expect us, as fans, to wax lyrical about Kate but when i sit down and listen to her work it never fails to amaze me just how bloody talented this woman is
take those last two songs alone, any artist would be proud to have written just them....she blows my mind and ears

hehe

Here's a video response I got for 'Hammersmith - James and the Cold Gun' yesterday, think you'll appreciate:

Her Greatest Live Performance

"A better quality recording than the one from the Hammersmith Odeon video, together with all the pictures I've found of the finest rock performance of all time"

Cheers-Just wish I'd seen her live in 79.

Heres the fantastic Hayley doing Wuthering Heights & a song of her own. Kate inspired her.

Who in the hell can dispute the fact that Kate Bush is the greatest female artist ever? I'm sorry but if your Lady Gagging's, Beyonches, Alexandre the Burke where as half as good as Kate Bush is then the charts would be so much better. But as it stands it's a load of turd!

Couldn't agree more. Very well said. Wouldn't catch Kate miming on stage.

Just wanted to update the 'Her Greatest Live Performance' link I posted a few back as the old one was deleted and re-edited .

Might as well post all links while I'm here.
Some thread dupes song wise, but some versions and a lot of pics that are new to the thread, nice compilation to flick through!

Her Greatest Song
Her Greatest Cover Version
Her Greatest Remix
Her Greatest Achievement
Her Greatest Moment
Her Greatest Video
Her Greatest Live Performance
Her Greatest Backing Vocals
Her Greatest Duet

Much respect to arosegrowingold!

Funny thing is though, Lady Gagging and Pixie Slott have more appreciators on their threads. I mean they've barely been around a few months and all they have done is get their kit off and regurgitated and passed off a few songs as their own!

Some people *shakes head*

But the thing is that they are a passing fad and will be forgotten within a few short years, only to be replaced by the next short-term fad - they'll never have long-lasting dedicated fans such as Kate has.

Kate has had a large and dedicated following for over 30 years now.

those two are this decades Betty Boo and Yazz.....hardly cutting edge and neither are fit enough to warm Kate's piano stool!!
but hey, it takes all sorts to make things varied

True, my only problem is that there are so many novelty acts and manufactured pop stars that there isn't much room for proper artists to shine through. I mean you look at the X-factor and it dominates every single newspaper radio station and television station. Whilst other era's have had novelty pop acts and manufactured pop stars the likes of Kate Bush were able to break through. I fear for musicians in a similar mould to Kate (yes I know NO one comes close to Kate) are not getting a fair share of coverage! Anyway having said that I feel slightly smug that others don't even know who Kate Bush is, I think it can work as the worst kept secret
