Probably mentioned already, but I've only just sent it on iPlayer, Kate Bush got name checked and played on Being Human.

Listened to Kate Bush now for so many years. After listening to lyrics that for the first time sounded as though they had been thought about before being written down, she inspired me to be a writer. Something I do to this day.

Suprisingly, it hasn't been mentioned on this thread before!

Under the Ivy: The Story of Kate Bush (Hardcover) by Graeme Thomson
Pre-order: £14.96 (free delivery).
Omnibus Press (4 May 2010).
Graeme Thomson is the author of biographies of Willie Nelson and Elvis Costello.

Quote:
“This is the first ever in-depth study of Kate Bush's life and career. "Under the Ivy" features over 70 unique and revealing new interviews with those who have viewed from up close both the public artist and the private woman: old school friends, early band mates, long-term studio collaborators, former managers, producers, musicians, video directors, dance instructors and record company executives. "Under the Ivy" undertakes a full analysis of Bush's art. From her pre-teen forays into poetry, through scores of unreleased songs. Every crucial aspect of her music is discussed from her ground-breaking series of albums to her solo live tour. Her pioneering forays into dance, video, film and performance. Combining a wealth of new research with rigorous critical scrutiny, "Under the Ivy" offers a string of fresh insights and perspectives on her unusual upbringing in South London, the blossoming of her talent, her enduring influences and unique working methods, her rejection of live performance, her pioneering use of the studio, her key relationships and her gradual retreat into a semi-mythical privacy.”

Those are really good. As far as the books go, I shall get Deborah's but not sure about Under The Ivy.

But I'm more than likely to end up with both. Would be nice to hear some news on the next album... can't be many years away now

Oh I do hope you're right

I've only been a Kate Bush fan for a few years, but then again I am only 18 I don't have all her album yet but I just listen to her music in utter amazement.

I know Hounds of Love was like her biggest albums, but my favourite has to be The Dreaming. Each and every song is just so creative and totally different from anything else I've heard before. Pull Out The Pin is a particular favourite of mine.

She's definitely one of my favourite singers of all time and I so wish I was alive when she had her tour

I do have a couple of Kate videos I made on Youtube which maybe you have come across, but I aint here to get my videos more views, just to say how great I think she is

The Dreaming is my personal favourite too, every song is a gem on that album!

Did anyone see Michael Lynche's version of This Woman's Work on American Idol tonight? It reduced one of the judges to tears and Simon Cowell said it was the best performance he had heard on the show.
