It's not to conceptualised lol just about snow and snow related snow things my main issue is the lack of variation over such a long disc i mean a sky of honey was long but had a lightness and varied feel to it.

this was my initial reaction but after many hundreds of listens to the wholw album it really unfurls with a depth that belies the cold sparsity the fisrt few listens give.
theres only the EJ duet that i can happily skip now and then.
i love how she hits a bum note at the beginning of among angels and says sorry. according to Del Palmer she lay the piano for lake tahoe down in one sitting.

I never knew there was an alternative to Hounds which coincidentally is my favourite song of hers.

And i have to be honest some songs on DC sound better than the original i even now prefer the alternate never be mine to the original lol.

I'm determined to keep this thread from slipping under the radar again i must discuss Kate

So everyone's Favourite and least favourite Kate masterpiece.

Favourite:
Hounds Of Love simply as it perfectly encapsulates her genius from being the mistress of great pop anthems to the left field avant garde experimentalism.

Least Favourite:
The Red Shoes an album by any other hand would have been regarded as a masterpiece as it stands a rather dull uninspired effort from Kate she can do so much more the only blip in an otherwise perfect pop catalogue.

Hounds Of Love, The Dreaming, Never For Ever and Aerial are among my Favorite albums ever!

My dad had Never For Ever on a vinyl (got them all in bags in my room) and HOL on a cassette....like i said we have all music goin in my house which is why my taste is so wide and massive

So yeah impossible to choose between them but these albums pad out my top 25 albums of all time ever!

there isn't an album i don't like, only the odd song i will sometimes skip.
my favourite albums would be never for ever, the dreaming, hounds, aeriel and fifty words.
i always feel lost for words when i try to explain Kate's talent.....it really is quite remarkable when you look at her work and see just how many masterpieces are in there.

I still dont have The Red Shoes. ANd still warming to 50 Words Of Snow...havent played Lionheart for a while.

But damn i do agree how she has kept it up with her musical legacy.

Amazing showcases! Just theatrical immenseness per disc

Oh totally she is miles ahead of her contemporaries and in the way in which she works has unwittingly chnaged not just the pop landscape but the music industry for women thanks to her we have Alison Goldfrapp, Florence, Ellie, Tori, Bjork, Bat for lashes to name but a few.

The arguments i have had trying to explain this to people who perceive her as a pretentious weirdo

And yes The Red Shoes just can't only album of her's which sits gathering dust and perhaps DC which i found unnecessary and am adamant its a compilation even though Flower of the mountain, Never been mine, And this womans work are great

As i have said JP the red shoes buy it its not a bad album just considering the rest is weak and somewhat dull it was meant to be performed live hence the more rock oriented sound but im still waiting

big stripey lie
one of the stand outs from the red shoes.....

All young gentle dreams drowning
In life's grief ....

another example of Kates ability to paint a million pictures with a few simple words.

Washing Machine, Washing Machine even the ridiculous can sound brilliant in her hands.

The Red Shoes standouts for me would be And So Is Love, Eat The Music, Lily, Moments Of pleasure, Why Should I Love you the rest i can leave

i always thought that constellation of the heart was a great pop song and reckon it would have been a massive hit had it been released as a single!
also, how did you get on with the alternative hounds of love? hope you liked it

I think another point yes the more upbeat songs on the album really lift it out of the mire and from being seriously weak i also do like The line the cross and the curve concept with the videos

And i did it doesn't beat the original but still amazing currently trailing through the b-sides which are of course just as incredible
