The Man With The Child In His Eyes always makes me think of Gene Hunt after it being played in Ashes To Ashes. This is a very good thing.

I'm also particularly fond of Babooshka, The Sensual World and This Woman's Work.

just been watching clips of The Line, The Cross and The Curve on youtube. I don't think it was the entire film, just the tracks from the album, has anyone seen this film, is it any good?

If it was my uploads you watched, then, yeah, it is the full musical short film!

I kinda like it, a lot of people don't - Kate has even described it as 'bollocks' herself! heh

I wasn't sure if that was the full film, but I enjoyed it none the less, thanks for uploading it, it was great to be able to finally see it.

As someone who was around at the time, and just beginning to appreciate Kate Bush, it is one of my biggest regrets that I didn't go to see her in concert. At the time, I was making so little I could not afford many gigs, and had already bought tickets for Rachel Sweet.

Kate Bush, I'll catch her on the next tour, I thought. Oh dear...

zounds is right, kate did slight this herself...said it was rushed and didn't end up with the feel she wanted, suppose her world was a bit mad at that time!

i liked it though....at least it was more taped time of kate performing

I remember being amazed by Running up that hill in 1985, and then being amazed by the fact that it took until 1989 to follow it up!

It was shown a few times last year, I'm not sure whether it was the Performance channel or Sky Arts. I hadn't seen it before then and I liked the way it put visuals to some of my favorite tracks on The Red Shoes.

As a kid I was pretty much unaware of Kate apart from the more mainstream i.e. Wuthering Heights, Babooshka etc. but after meeting my partner who is a FANATIC I agree that she is one of the most, if not the most, innovative and amazing female artists ever. I love her.

Kate Bush has, and always will be worlds ahead of anyone else!!!!
Her influence is everywhere in artists as varied as Coldplay, Outkast, Goldfrapp, Antony and Johnsons , every female singer/songwriter since 1978 etc etc...but maybe I'm just biased .......

Suspended in Gaffa - German TV Nov'1982

Uploaders info:

Quote:
“From a newly discovered, very high quality (Thanks Menro!) copy. I did a little fiddling to fix the beginning and the end so the cuts are less jarring. Sadly, this is all they aired, fading the song out. I looped the still at the end to cover the fade, which had gone to another scene.”

A rarity indeed!

i've just watched her little segment on the queens of pop programme.......it was interesting to see the genuine affection and respect her peers have for her

I think the BBC should make a whole series on just Kate Bush alone, focusing each episode on one of her albums. She achieved so many firsts, there is a great story to be told. Not much is know about Kate because of her low profile, so a documentary (series) focusing on her work would be interesting.

That's an excellent idea. IF they could do it properly.

Anyone ever see Steve Coogan doing the Kate Bush medley for Comic Relief? Brilliant! Great version of Wuthering Heights...

That's not the Comic Relief medley.

Here's the 1999 lead up to the comic relief performance

"Squeeze into Kate Bush, well, not her actual bush" heh

(Also including a Brian Ferry interview, conducted only the way Alan can!)

Here's the later medley.
