Because (and I am a big fan by the way) I think Kate has neglected her fanbase since she toured in the late 70's. It's just..there's nothing accept the albums..which are amazing, but it's always nice to see interviews and live performances. That's what I think anyway. I still respect her decision.
Well, I'm not someone who thinks an artist "owes" their fans anything. As long as they offer a quality product then they've done their job.

Can't stand over-entitled "fans" like you, to be honest.

For some reason EMI has blocked any videos relating to the Ninth Wave to UK viewers, and that's been the case for a while now. Never mind that Kate is a UK artist.

And studios wonder why people pirate.

I'm not even going to respond to that.

Am I not entitled to an opinion?

I wonder if you are young and are so needy for interviews, tours, etc because that's what the current generation of musicians and their fans is all about? Otherwise your attitude honestly baffles me.

I'm not going to reply to that either sweetheart, so you're better off letting it go. Does anyone else think Lake Tahoe is one of the best thing Kate has ever done? It gives me goosebumps.

I seem to have hit a nerve.

It's a shame you seem determined to ruin a nice thread with your embarrassing entitlement issues.

TBH i am happy with what Kate gives us but sometimes it does feel as though your forever waiting and sometimes just sometimes it would be nice to have a gig or interview after all would she have had her CBE were it not for all us fans supporting her. But im also aware supporting an artist like Kate your always going to have to be happy to just get what your given as its usually brilliant.

Oh, I agree. It would be brilliant if she DID promote more or performed live here and there but when people have an attitude about it like That_Guy does, it makes me very embarrassed to be a fan of the same artist.

I'm hopeful we'll get at least a few more albums from Kate before she may decide she's done. I know the direction she's taken since Aerial has split fan opinion but I love it and more of the same would be most welcome.

I know what you mean you learn when your a fan of Kate that in't how she works and to expect it and kind of think less of her for it is a bit ignorant it's like its her life she can live it as she wants too

And i loved Aerial Dc was okay 50 Words bored me to tears only Kate album i openly dislike But as with all thing Kate expect nothing and prepared to be stunned either way

Has 50WFS really divided opinion? That's unbelievable! It's such a well produced album. Turn the lights off (preferably when it's snowing outside) with a glass of wine and press play. It's magic.

People seem to either love it or hate it. I love it and want to give it a few more plays before the summer weather (if we get any!) really hits. Lake Tahoe took me a while to "get" but now I think it's one of Kate's real masterpieces. I love Snowflake, Wild Man, and the title track too.

I love that Kate's work is so divisive because it makes discussions much more interesting.

My least favourite Kate album is The Dreaming. I wish I could explain why but I just don't like it even though many say it is her masterpiece. My favourite album is a tie between The Kick Inside and Hounds of Love - both timeless works of art.

So true case in point The Dreaming I adore it every song every minute is just brilliant and coupled with the two you've mentioned along with Aerial and sensual world make my top 5

I would personally suggest This Woman's Work as one of the best things Kate's ever done, myself. It's impossible to pick just one song from such a stunning body of work. I think A Coral Room, Under the Ivy, Hounds of Love, Experiment IV, Man With The Child In His Eyes, and the whole Ninth Wave are the best examples of Kate's talent.

I agree with the comment citing This Woman's Work as an example of Kate's best. I'd also choose A Coral Room as a means of showing people an example of some of the finest songwriting in the world.

I've been listening to Kate a lot (more than usual!) lately and I honestly find listening to Kate's music a whole different experience than when I listen to music by any other artist. There is just something magical about her, like she was sent to us from another realm.

Oh, and it was wonderful to see her collect her CBE earlier this month. I didn't think she'd attend but not only did she turn up, we got some pictures as well. Lovely to see her looking so radiant.
