Also, to make sure that KB doesn't pull out. I don't think that will happen, but it's always a slight concern. Very pleased to have my booking for the third night. After two performances, any bugs should be ironed out, but KB's voice will not yet be strained too much.

Yes, good point. Oh well, we can hope that on this occasion they do know what they're talking about. For sure, KB has posed in the life jacket, and on that alone The Ninth Wave would seem likely.

tickets being sent out late is quite common for certain events, like big names that sell out quickly and small/special shows or fanclub tickets. they don't sell them in the first place if they think the artist would pull out. if they did then the tickets just get refunded

some of what the papers say could be true, but take everything with a pinch of salt. papers seem to chuck mud at walls and see what sticks

sometimes early shows are good as you don't get spoilers before and sometimes songs played early on are missed out in later shows if they think they don't work, and sometimes later on the artist can get sick of a song, but with this being the first tour in 35 years and only so many shows it's not really going to happen. it's not like being midway through a 135 date tour when the band are sick of playing the same stuff every night

No, I don't for a minute think that KB will get sick of performing whatever songs she chooses over the dates, and expect some variety as that will not only be more fun for her, but a bonus for the audience.

The concern, for those who have tickets for the last few nights, is how KB's voice will stand up to singing - if not every then most nights - by then. Trilling away in the studio, and doing the very occasional live show can't really compare to being live on stage each night. Fingers crossed everything works out, and all nights go smoothly.

the shows are well spaced out, and there aren't that many of them so I wouldn't worry about her voice going. I'm sure he will practice and train enough in the preceding weeks

The tribute band 'Cloudbusting' playing motivated me to make it this year, they are very good.

I've just got tickets to see the Dandies in July as well (small place, bowling alley near O2 London - http://london.brooklynbowl.com/event...arhols-london/ )

Can't believe I'm going to make the Homeground gathering, see The Dandy Warhols and Kate all within a few months - just hope I don't drop dead tomorrow!! I haven't done enough to justify Karma being that much of a bitch I hope! hehe

Take care man.”

Hey zounds,
Good night? Hope it warmed you up for September, still can't quite believe I will be seeing Kate in concert!
Never thought I'd be able to say that

Hey didge - yeah was really good, was nice to finally meet Peter and Krys 'Homeground' face to face after so many years. 'Cloudbusting' had a really good sound, there's snippets of their performance here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44YCxk3ICm0

Yes, September is getting closer now isn't it! Still can't believe we're going to get the chance to see Kate live in a relatively intimate venue!

August, when my tickets are for, is even closer! Really looking forward to this once in a lifetime event.

Hi all! I've been a Kate fan since the release of Aerial and I am lucky enough to have tickets to see her in September. To say I'm excited would be the understatement of a lifetime. I never thought I could so much as dream of seeing her life, considering it's been 35 years since her one and only tour and she is notoriously publicity shy but the concerts are almost upon us and it's such a wonderful time! I will never forget the feeling of unbridled shock and joy when the announcement about Before The Dawn popped up on my Facebook feed and how sick I made myself when it came to getting tickets. It took me days to recover from the anxiety and adrenalin - that's how much Kate Bush means to me as a musician. She's inspired me more than anyone else ever has and to know I'm going to see her performing in person - a mere six rows in front of me no less! - still doesn't quite feel real!

Just wanted to see who else is going to Before The Dawn and when? And what seats you have? It will be interesting to see how many people from here are going.

No replies? This thread seems rather unactive compared to the other Appreciation threads.

Then you have a lot of catching up to do. The Hounds of Love and Director's Cut, The Dreaming and The Red Shoes all being must have items.

We're going in late August, and have seats in the middle in front of the mixing desk, which I'm told affords the best possible position for sound. Really looking forward to this, and the reaction of my partner. She also loves music, and has a few favourite KB tracks, but can't really understand that, to me, the music of KB is the nearest I get to religion!

Glad to see someone else showing The Red Shoes some love, it's my favourite Kate album but seems to have a poor reputation among fans.

I'm not a huge fan of her early work (I prefer her post 82 output) but I'd also add The Kick Inside to that list.

And I'll be off to see Before the Dawn on 3rd September, stalls row J so pretty good seats I reckon! Cannot fricking wait!

I prefer the original verson of 'Lilly', from the Red Shoes, but the reworked versions of 'And So Is Love ' plus 'Song of Solomon' from Director's Cut. In fact, there are many other earlier, and later, KB songs that I'd love to hear reworked to her new specifications.

Who knows, perhaps there's a new album waiting in the wings, or more likely 'Before The Dawn' is being filmed/ rerecorded for future release. What would be really cool is if each and every performance was recorded, then made available the next day on-line to anyone who had a ticket. Just dreaming, I know, but it's a nice dream.

Ah, you see if prefer the reworked Lily but the original And So Is Love! What's great is that we've now got different versions to choose from. I wonder if the reason she reworked these songs was so she could perform them live in her lower register?

I sincerely hope there will be a DVD/live album. Didn't Del Palmer say recently he's 99.9% sure there will be? I seem to remember reading that somewhere.

And what a great idea about making the live songs available for download after the show. I'm not sure if she would do that's though. I'd imagine if she wants the show to be made available for release, she'll put her energy into making it a really great product for the fans, like she does with everything else!

Six weeks tomorrow til I see her (not that I'm counting down the days or anything!)

Yeah counting down! I'm going the night before.

Check this pic, very strange that my seat is the only one that is down!! hah

I've got to ask this question again, those who are going are you going to try and avoid reviews/set list etc... before you go?

I plan on avoiding the internet and all news beforehand, but that is easier said than done.

Possibly, in the back of her mind... where the pixies play.

Very likely. But, I wonder, is that going to be compiled, meaning every show is filmed (chance for us all to get on the DVD) or film just one show and hope it's all perfect?

If KB doesn't then you can bet someone will. Far better for KB to control the process herself, and make uploads of each performance, available for download on iTunes

No, I'm keen to read everything. This is not like reading a book or watching a movie, where the plot can be spoiled. Knowing some of what is coming will only increase my anticipation.

Hmm - I dunno, a complete surprise, not having a clue what is going to happen appeals to me, those going on the first night will have that.

I'm going on the second Tuesday, so only the 4th performance? Won't be hard to avoid, you're even earlier in August, which one have you got 2nd or 3rd performance?

Obviously those going to the 15th or 20th gig will find it harder to avoid.

Oh what am I spouting this nonsense for, I'm kidding myself, same as you I'll be lapping up all the news after the first night.

Think I will avoid any crappy youtube phone postings tho'.

I'm gonna try my absolute best to avoid spoilers and reviews etc, as I really want the show to be a surprise. But I've never managed to avoid a spoiler in my life, so we'll see how that goes....

Uhhhm, it's the 29th of August, so that's the 3rd. Assuming the Eventim booking wallahs actually deliver my tickets! No sign of the gold-plated security van down my road as yet.

Always nice to hear new odds and ends, just noticed these comments by Julian Doyle (he directed the cloudbusting video) that he's posted after the article on The Telegraph's site: Kate Bush's Cloudbusting video: 7 minutes of heaven

Quote:
“Julian Doyle • 19 hours ago

MTV did not want to show Cloudbusting at the time because they said it did not look like a pop video. Which was exactly what I was trying to do!

Julian Doyle • 20 hours ago

By the way I went from directing Kate's Video to shooting Iron Maidens "Can I play with Madness'" A huge jump but you will see similarities.”
