No, I
think I've exercised my right to comment., You are very welcome to exercise your right to read another forum if this is not of interest.
Who said anything about shock or surprise, not me. What I do maintain is that any artist who has been afforded such adulation, loyalty and devotion (and with those things a vast amount of money and the freedom that confers)
does owe their fans something. Because without those fans none of it would have been possible. Forgetting that fact, thinking fame and fortune are god given right, is never attractive. Asking to be kept informed as to why shows that were filmed have not been made available, even if by a minion, should not be too much trouble. KB is a magnificent songwriter, not a goddess.
Also, we were not
given anything with regard to 'Before the Dawn' it was a commercial transaction like any other. A contract between audience and performer that was fulfilled in style. Indeed, that show was the best gig I have ever seen. But it wasn't a charitable thing by any means.
Like many people who attended, I'd waited patiently for 35 years. A time during which shows had been teased on a couple or more occasions, then didn't happen. Until the blessed Bertie decided it was what she should do. But my good luck in getting tickets does not mean the millions who could not attend are second class, indeed, I very strongly believe that 'Before the Dawn' should have been made available months ago, mainly for those people, to say 'sorry you couldn't get in, here's what it was like.'
Any relationship, be it personal, or necessarily distant as in the case of an act and an audience, has to flow both ways. For way too long with KB, this has not been the case. While I still marvel at her music, and probably always will, I am far less happy with what I see as the attitude of the woman behind the music. In that, I may not be quite as alone as you imply.
However, I understand that you and KB don't give two figs, and will post no more on the subject.
