A coral room

http://youtu.be/Bn8SB4afeZI

Del Palmer said on his Facebook page that they recorded this in one take, just the two of them in an unlit studio with just two candles placed on the piano for light
Can you imagine the mood in that room

I'm sure he has also said in the past that Lake Tahoe and possibly Misty as well form 50WFS were also done in one take......if so that's astounding because they are both long pieces. I love it when we get these little snippets of how Kate crafts her talent. I'm sure Among Angels must have been done in one take too because right at the beginning she misses/messes a note and says ''sorry'' before playing on.

Love the emotion in this song... "All you fishermen, head for home" fills me up each time.
Oh me too! Gorgeous.

My favorite female artist ever ! I really like The Kick Inside and that album is in my Top 10 favorite albums of the 70's. I kinda lost her around the 80's , but she made a great album with Hounds Of Love, which I personally didn't like all of it however. Running Up That Hill is though still on e of my fave songs by her.

I like her very much as an artist, composer and human being. Still loveyou, Kate !

Hey digit al and other Kate fans.

This is great, I'm sure you'll appreciate this cover

Pål Moddi Knutsen is a Norwegian musician. His music has been described as a blend of folk music and pop, although he refers to himself as a songwriter and storyteller.

Thanks zounds I really liked that I'm not sure about his change of lyric here and there but he's got a great voice and that's a worthy version. Cheers !

New album in time for Christmas anyone? If Kate were to make this happen what would you want? I'd love a big orchestral of long pieces, think 50wfs but with a less spacious feel and a totally removed theme...........big production, big sound, big noise, all packaged in a unique Kate style. Yes please

I'm the opposite, I'd much prefer 3 to 4 minute songs in a first three album style.

I seem to have been playing the extended version of Rubberband Girl quite a bit lately.

I'm also the opposite, I would love some short but really strong songs, a modern The Kick Inside type thing. I just don't have the inclination to listen to 10 minute songs. I'd like pared back, less production back to the roots Kate, I just love her voice so much that's all I want to hear really.

I'd like a 12 track album of just Kate and a Piano.

I saw the other day that on Saturday July 30th Pick of the Pops is due to feature 1958. This is great, as Kate was born that day back in 1958!

I've just googled what was number one on her Birthday, it was the Everly Brothers.

Director's Cut 2 and Before the Dawn (both DVD of gig and new material)

Sadly there is no chance. KB has retreated, doing whatever the hell she does all day, week after week, month after month, talking only to Elton and Steven, while basking in the utter brilliance of Bertie.

When Phil Butler presents his 70s & 80s show on BBC Yorkshire stations on Saturday nights he usually starts with people celebrating their birthday. He takes pride in playing some rare classics. Before he said he's be on holiday I was going to ask him to play Sat In Your Lap.

After my comments last weekend, Gambo played Sat in Your Lap on Pick of the Pops yesterday! It's my favourite of her underplayed hits. Kate sounded as though she was trying to become a rock chick!

In this months Q magazine Colin Greenwood (Radiohead's Bassplayer) said that he recently gave Kate a tour of Radiohead’s studio and she went to one of their London shows.

A Kate/Radiohead recording would be nice wouldn't it. I'll add that to my 'wishful thinking' list.

While I'm here, this is worth a watch, just great...

A Kate/ Radiohead collaberation would be something special I think. Radiohead are a great band and formed at a school just a few miles from me, a couple of the band still live in the area I believe.
I saw the heights day thing at the time, made me

great news, after loads of recent rumour and speculation it seems it's really happening! Will a DVD follow do we think?

Great news, indeed!

A DVD would also do very nicely, though. I hope we'll get one soon!

About time. But will wait for the de-luxe version, with the DVD. I only hope that isn't being held back for another year or so.

I'm actually pretty relieved she didn't perform A Coral Room in BTD in the end, much as I adore it. I would have been an absolute wreck. Can barely listen to the track at home on the album without crying.

I really love that she kept that in. Makes it feel all the more personal somehow.
