I'm actually pretty relieved she didn't perform A Coral Room in BTD in the end, much as I adore it. I would have been an absolute wreck. Can barely listen to the track at home on the album without crying.

Bad news folks.
Apparently there's a new interview out next week in Mojo which confirms no BTD DVD

Apparently there's a new interview out next week in Mojo which confirms no BTD DVD ![]() Ahh well. I'm not suprised tho' to be honest. Mojo with 11 page interview is out next Tuesday (22nd November). Quote:
She tried to NOT be in her own show, she’s nixed the DVD and other strange revelations.
http://www.mojo4music.com/24826/kate...mojo-magazine/Cover image: http://www.mojo4music.com/media/2016...e-Bush-595.jpg In other news, 'And Dream Of Sheep' is being released as a standalone single and will be available to download later today (18th). and don't forget interview and full play of 2nd CD on Radio 6, Sunday 20th: http://www.music-news.com/news/UK/10...bum-first-play (6 minute snippet of interview on page). Quote:
1pm - 2pm: Kate Bush On 6 Music, the singer speaks to 6 Music presenter Matt Everitt. She talks about the pressures of creating such an ambitious project as her live shows, the inspiration behind some of her work, her relationship with Prince and life away from the spotlight. This is Kate’s first broadcast interview since 2011.
6pm - 8pm: Tom Robinson presents Now Playing. During the first half of his show he plays Kate Bush-inspired music requests sent in by the listeners. This is followed by a world exclusive first play of Disc 2 from the album. |

Gutted to hear this. It was a visual feast.
She is plagued with self doubt and over analysis - but I guess that's the flicker of creativity too. Doesn't sound like she will tour again either and a long wait for the next album. ![]() For the next album I would even settle for a covers album midway release

This then has to be the best 3 1/2 !! I gave up ages ago hoping for a DVD so i'm more than pleased we're getting BTD on vinyl, if Kate has captured the essence of those concerts throughout the whole album like she did on this single track then we are in for a treat I think. She actually sounds cold, you can hear that in her vocal. She really is truly astounding. |

Of course the lack of a DVD release is very disappointing indeed. I can't imagine how those who didn't get to see the show feel. I was, thank goodness, one of the lucky ones and it's an experience I'll never forget. A visual memory to last forever would have been wonderful but I suspect the show just didn't transfer very well to film... a lot of stage shows and concerts do not, imho. Kate has always been a perfectionist so her refusal to release a DVD ultimately comes as no surprise at all.
The way people are acting about it on Facebook (on Kate's own official page no less) and in the comments in the Guardian articles has really shocked me though. I for some reason thought Kate Bush fans were better than that but the entitlement and bitter hateful ranting at her over this is off the charts. How are people being brought up when they think going off on one like this is okay? |

So looking forward to the interview with Kate on 6Music BBC radio later today.
Does anyone else love her speaking voice? I find it really beautiful. |

The interview is now available on catch up for those that missed it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0833z59 On a side note, this thread was eight years old 10 days ago! Quote:

Listening to it right now on catch up. Loving it.
Oh how much do I love you Kate Bush! Did anyone else get tickets for the shows? Not a chance in hell. Hounds and the Dreaming are my fave Kate albums. The Dreaming is utterly, utterly bonkers and utterly utterly wonderful. I must have had Hounds of Love on repeat on my CD player for a month at least.

Always great to hear from her, but as usual she said a lot without saying much. No clue as to what she's gonna do next, but that's par for the course with Kate. I think part of the problems with interviews with her is uninspired questions. How many times do we need to hear, yes she enjoyed the first tour but it was exhausting. We all know this already. |

the visual footage was exactly what was used in the show to 'and dream of sheep'. It is beautiful.
Anyhow my cd arrived today. It sounds glorious. Wish the volume was increased a little in the mastering as I have to lift the volume dial to hear the full glory. Particularly, on Lily - which imo was such an incredible live interpretation - so alive and full of sound but it is a little quiet in the mastering. This will remain one my top 3 concerts I have ever seen. But the VIP experience was by far and away the best I have ever encountered. The CD is a wonderful gift and a wonderful representation. |

I've only listened to a few selected tracks so far, but my one gripe - the audience isn't loud enough! The night I was there, the crowds were rapturous and that doesn't really come across on the CD. A minor gripe. |

the true artist prevails in this concert -
two story books: the ninth wave and sea of honey; just shine. And their mastering is perfection. she could have done a greatest hits concert but she stayed true to herself and displayed her artistry. With an introductory and end book end piece of music perfect |

With an introductory and end book end piece of music perfect The music, the vibe and the artistry are all on a level rarely achieved. Kate's voice is like the thickest, creamiest molten gold dribbling down velvet. BUT..... I'm really not liking the spoken dialogue in Astronomer's call or the home scene. It jarring with the flow of the music, it's badly written and badly delivered..... It sounds like someone in an amateur dramatic production. Then again the beauty of everthing else ( think sunset) more than makes up for this.

I'm loving the live version of Sunset. The flamenco part just bursts into life and reaches heights the album version doesn't quite reach.
I'm remember the night I went to see her this guy down the front leapt out of his seat and started dancing when the flamenco started and security made him sit down
