Just bought it off iTunes, I'll be putting my earbuds in and listening to it in the dark when I go to bed later. Very much looking forward to my first listen and bringing back my live memories.

other than Aerial i find that most of kate's work lends itself to a darkened room....for Aerial you need a warm summer morning with the windows thrown open and the volume on high or a balmy summers night with a pitcher of pimm's

Have to say, i listen to Kate more so in autumn & winter than the fairer seasons. And yep, Aerial kicks that trend!

I could NEVER play The Dreaming/HOL in summer - heresy!

So I'm not the only one lol. I don't think I've ever listened to The Ninth Wave in daylight, that is strictly a dark room with headphones on.

I have had a real chuckle at come tns reagrding seasonality if her Kate's work. If think every single album is like a dining choice, exclusive of seasonality. Including 50 words for snow. Yes this is a winters album in essence but also makes a great album late at night regardless of season.

hello bfp,
yeah you are of course right but i think we were just alluding to some of her work being ''enhanced'' by a certain mood or physical environment, and that ,of course, is going to be different for all of us depending on taste and affinity to any given album
