Hi, just read this message on the TUTV support and the page said to check that you're receiving 6 frequencies, no more, no less. I'm still receiving 7 frequencies, and am wondering if that is why I can't receive setanta or the Top Up Anytime channels?

Any help would be gratefully received.

What transmitter are you on, and what are the frequencies?

To find the Transmitter:
Menu > 4 (Setup) > 6 (Help)
Also what software version?

To find out the frequencies:
Menu > 4 (Setup) > 6 (Help) > Red (Tuning Menu)

I am on Sutton Coldfield and the frequencies are (8 now since a rescan)

I'm on version 2.99

Am having trouble trying to workout where all the frequencies are coming from....ie, they are coming from another transmitter other than Sutton Coldfield.

Inside the box with the DTR, did you get a short length of aerial cable?

I am on Sutton Coldfield transmitter and I only get 6 frequencies :

I get 113 channels.

Yes I got a length of aerial cable, I assumed this was for connecting to a TV without a scart as the box seems to have a good RF modulator built into it.

There should have been 2 cables....an RF one about 1 metre long, and a slightly shorter one.

Are you using the RF modulator, or the cable to daisy chain?

Try the following:

Remove the grey block at the back, very carefully (some people have damaged the connectors by bending them) and follow the instructions here: http://www.kafkasworld.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1590

Not using the RF Modulator, should I still perform the steps in that guide?

Just using Scart but thought the modulator was a good idea!!

Try it....it may help narrow down the Frequencies to 6

Rescanning now, it found 103 Programmes and 29 Top Up TV
(whatever that means! )

It appears I'm getting ITV4 from Winter Hill on Frequency 66,

The frequencies have changed again since I changed that cable.

BBC TWO from Winter Hill
ITV from Winter Hill
CH4 from Winter Hill
Channel 5 & Setanta etc. from Sutton Coldfield

Oh dear....it sounds like you may need to adjust your aerial so it points more directly at one of the other....or get an attenuator

What are the signal strengths like between the 2 transmitters?

S = 6 Q = 7 on both transmitters, and flawless glitch free pictures on all the channels

Got my first TUTV downloads this morning,, still not sure about setanta cos it hasn't started yet.

Okay, so I've had an aerial installer help move the aeriel, and now I'm thankfully only seeing 6 frequencies and all from Winter Hill, which is apparently the recommended strongest transmitter for the Wrexham area.

Top Up TV Programmes are working perfectly, getting new ones downloaded to box every night with no trouble but after many customer services calls to Top Up TV since Monday morning, I still cannot receive Setanta Sports, it appears in the guide, the now and next bar comes up, but just a black screen, I've been asked on every call am I sure that its not a black screen with an aerial and an X at top. I then go on to explain as this is not what comes up, but it does when the aeriel is unplugged from the box.

They claim this is a problem they have never seen before where Top Up TV is working but Setanta is not, however I find several postings on DS from different users with exactly the same symptoms.

Could this be a faulty box or card?

Did the TUTV Customer Service rep check the Card Offers?....they may need to resend a signal to your card

Yes they have checked the offers card and most have said that it means I'm getting TopUp TV but not Setanta, they have sent the activation signal I don't know how many times since I first started phoning on Monday Morning, still nothing's been sorted.


The Smart Card Offers number I get is:

801C000000000080

Can anyone translate this into what I'm actually getting?

Have you been asked to remove the card and put it back in?...if not, try that

Can you tell me if the offers code is right for Setanta? The reason why I'm asking is one CS agent said that it's wrong because there should be a double 4, and another then said that the one I have is perfect for Setanta (sounded quite confused at the time.)

Any ideas?

TBH am not sure what the Card Offers should be as I don't have Setanta....perhaps someone else out there may have Setanta and TUTV Anytime
