WiFi / Bluetooth / Zigbee Wireless Speaker systems - advice needed
Hi - I have just been reading about the Sony S-AIR Wireless Audio System (which seems pretty impressive) - but I wonder if anyone knows of or can recommend other cheaper / similar wireless speaker systems to enable an iPod or standard hifi / audio stream to be fed over a wireless connection throughout the house?
I guess the (cheap!) simple system that I am looking for would consist of: - a simple AC mains plug adaptor (so that it can be plugged in anywhere / is powered) which contains an iPod dock, an AUX-in socket, and a wireless (wifi, bluetooth, zigbee etc) transmitter. - a single mono wireless speaker, which can also be plugged into any mains socket in the house & be selected to be the left or right channel (or maybe a single stereo speaker as per the S-AIR). Easily extendable to multiple other rooms via additional speakers. - Maybe an iTouch / iPhone widget as a control interface to the system? Comments / recommendations? I'm sure that I must have missed something? |

How much will the Sony system cost to do what you want?

What about using an Apple Airport express with a pair of computer speakers or an existing stereo?
Airport Express uses wifi to stream music from iTunes running on a computer. AFAIK, you can control it with an iPhone. |
