Sacd

My set up is all Cyrus - cyrus 7, cd7. both psxr-ed. cls70s - stereo. I'm not looking for surround sound at the moment - when and if I do, I'll probably get something separate and cheaper than expanding the Cyrus (budget Marantz/Yamaha amp and budget satellites perhaps).

What I'm wondering is, would I notice an improvement if I added a budget SACD player. It'd be stereo only and by budget I suppose I mean something under £300. I've got a budget DVD player so no need for a universal player.

I'd audition obviously, but wondered if anyone else had thought about going along these lines. Happy with the Cyrus for red book but is SACD that much "better" that I'd notice an improvement even with a budget player and with only a stereo set-up. Music is mainly pop /rock.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Don't know wether you'd hear a difference it's down to your ears and the equipment you finally choose - best to audition I guess.

For about £200 you could get the Pioneer DV-565A which not only does SACD but also DVDA which covers more options than say a Sony which would only do SACD.
