New battery for my N95 8GB
vitaminz
11-11-2008
Hi, the battery life in my N95 8GB is really poor at the moment, and I've been shopping around for a spare battery (So could charge them both perhaps). Is there any risks associated with using a non Nokia certified battery, such as this?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Extended-BL-6F-BL6F-Battery-for-Nokia-N95-8GB-Next-Day_W0QQitemZ400008027424QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item400008027424&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318#ebayphotohosting

I'm attracted to that auction because of the price mostly but just making sure that there's no big risks with it.

Thanks

here is a risk with no nokia batteries. principally that they explode. they also tend to not be very good. i bought one for a couple of pounds. and it's ok, not as good as the original one mind.

just don't charge them unattended

play have the originals for £25, a lot i know.

things you can do with your phone. fully drain the battery, make sure, wifi and bluetooth are off when you're not using them, and reduce the brightness of the screen.

also check you have the latest firmware.

the problem with unoriginal batteries is that if it were to explode and or cause damage to your phone Nokia would not be held responsible and they wont help with whatever may have happened as a result. The chances are very slim but as long as you know.

if my phone exploded he last of my worries would be the nokia warranty. i'd be more concerned about me and my house.
