I would guess John is actually leading the public vote.

Only chance of getting him off the show is if the judges rig the scores and have everyone else joint first. I'm sure even they wouldn't try that.

So just sit back and enjoy John's progression to the final.

Ola who has been evicted wore far less, and Erin last Saturday revealed more and scored less. Kristina is a Blackpool Festival Finalist, and thus world class.

This post is simply offensive to women.

I'm going to vote for three, possibly four couples I personally wouldn't like to see voted off .

I don't think you can get more tactical () than that as we don't know the order of popularity (it probably changes every week anyway this series as there are no out right favourites).

He represents probably every mature man's dream while he's dancing with his Salome

If they don't.........well, then he really must be a sex god

aaargh ! help !”

He's already admitted that he no longer has his three hour lunches with assorted journalist friends with loads of wine consumed. Instead he is having salads and water as a result of Kristina's good influence. I suggest that might be the reason he's losing weight not that he's actually doing any work.

I said the thread was repulsive I don't know you so I can't comment on your assertion about your personalily. What criteria are you using to measure the success of the show? Oh and would the BBC's match yours?

The gist of the last paragraph says that anybody you don't like to watch should go especially John. Oh and you like to express your opinion but it seems counter opinions aren't welcome.

I really don't understand why there is so much controversy regarding John.

He was asked to take part and he agreed. He seems very popular with the viewers, which is why he is still in.

The makers of SCD and the Judges are being very disingenous about this. It's no good banging on about it being a 'Dance Competition' and then inviting someone to take part in the show who isn't up to at least a certain standard of competance.

If they want a 'Dance Competition' then they should only invite those contestants that will fit that criteria. They are not looking for complete amateurs as they pick dancers with past experience like Cherie, Rachel etc., so the weaker, untalented contestants are just being used as pecking order eliminations obviously. They could find contestants of better ability if they really wanted to be honest about the show.

All this bleating by the Judges is because the show has shot itself in the foot by picking a contestant the the viewers have warmed to.

If the judges cannot accept the public vote, they should step down.

If certain viewers feel the show is being made a mockery off, they should switch off.

Then the rest of us can enjoy Strictly in peace - both for the dancing and the entertainment that it treats us to.

Why should they do anything of the sort? You may as well say that people who don't like the judges' comments should stop watching, & those who don't like viewers saying the show's been made a mockery should stop reading this forum.

The judges have a perfect right to comment on the vote, as does anyone.

Viewers have a perfect right to complain the show's being made a mockery.

Far from making a mockery of the show, John is, along with Jodie, the most deserving of victory in this years SCD.

I don't see how a man who can't/doesn't dance is deserving of victory in a dancing competition.

I say leave John in. This is an entertainment program, if it wasn't, then ...

a) why is it on TV on Saturday prime time, and

b) why are 'celebrities' in it.

This is exactly the reason why John is in the 'competition'. There is absolutely no chance on God's green earth that a 62-yr old man who is 3 stone overweight can dance as well as a top model, or singer from a girl band, or a rugby player, or anyone else for that matter, all of whom are half his age. He is in it for this reason only, to get idiots talking about it all the time. If it was boring and predictable, no-one would watch it.

John will get more votes on Saturda,y due to the fact that smug Craig tried to take him apart on ITT not knowing John was listening in and John publicly spanked him verbally live on ITT. Now that was pleasant to see, Craig was mortified......made my day.

and no I dont vote for John, but I like his spirit.

The more the judges pick on John the more the public will be behind him.

What a sensible and spot on post...For everyone bleating about this being a dance programme, technicalities etc;get JS out???.. it beggars belief there is no prestigious prize or accolade to be won,no championship title,it's the SCD glitter ball...for the true awards and accolades in dance you reserve that for the stars of the show the professionals, enjoy the light entertainment show that Strictly is .

In tonight's ITT, that comedian Will Smith made a very clear point about the supposed popularity of John.

He said his mum called and urged him to also vote for John 'because the judges are beastly to him again'.

So you want John out? First vote for your favourites and pray those pea-brain judges don't be too nasty to John. In fact, give some vague praise about slight improvement and say nothing more of the 'nonsense' of travesty etc. See if John will be voted through based on his 'popularity'.

I don't get this "he's entertaining" stuff. He's not even as entertaining as Kate Garraway, who at least made a decent enough hash of her dances to be entertaining. John Sergeant just ambles round the dance floor in the same way for every dance. Sorry, but I want to see some decent dancing now.

A lot of people have passed judgment about Johns' character, both positive and negative e.g. articulate, arrogant etc. Most of this, based on a few minutes of TV coverage.......interesting.
We have heard how he put Craig Revel Horwood in his place, because of his superior ability to debate...... and the list goes on.
For those interested, there are many Political debate shows on TV.
For others looking to see personality or to watch a good / bad argument, I could recommend Big Brother.

I personally watch the show to be entertained, primarily by the dancing and also the music.

I have nothing against John, and I am sure he is a great guy and good at what he does, i.e. journalism. However, he cannot dance and therefore should now exit gracefully. He has had 8 weeks plus to improve, which perhaps he may have personally achieved, but his current dancing level leaves him at the bottom of the SCD list.

Many people mention that, the public vote for him, because they want to see him dance again. This intrigues me, because he cannot dance.

I see many posts where people say, I have not been watching or never watched SCD, but (having read some newspaper article), will certainly be voting for John now.
Then we have the underdog vote and the judge revenge vote and so on......or lets see if we can get John to the final........Mostly unrelated to his dancing ability.

IMHO, this is a DANCING entertainment show, not just an entertainment show.

Each to their own....

If I'd seen that written a few weeks ago I'd have been mystified as to how you could ever have formed that opinion of him as he always came across as pleasant, self-deprecating and with a superb dry wit. However although I wouldn't like to put it quite so strongly I find myself being able to see exactly how you could form that opinion.

I would also add that the 'intellectual' arguments he has been trying to use of late have been rather weak too and that is also disappointing given the credibility he built up during his career.

I am saddened to say I've lost an awful lot of respect for John and I wish he'd never been on the programme.

Me too. I loved him to start off with, but have completely changed my opinion of him after last Saturday.

In all this outrage and indignation about John and how if he stays in a single week longer its going to cause the end of the world as we know it, people seem to have forgotten that last year we did not only have Kate (who was gone by this stage) but KENNY LOGAN who the judges also hated and wanted gone and the public kept voting for, HE was in the show until they started two dances so a fair bit longer than John so far and it didnt bring down the world of SCD as we know it.

What this is REALLY all about is that people who want John gone are terrified that their particular favourite will be out of the show because of him, well if thats that happen THEY didnt have the public support and therefore wouldnt have won anyway.

If you want John gone so badly then put your money where your mouth is and vote for your favourite in the same numbers as people are obviously voting for John.

Quite Frankly I am appalled at the vitriol levied on here at another human being.

I doubt very much that few if any of you "John haters" actually know the man - which makes your hatred more bitter to swallow.

The BBC have long advertised SCD as an ENTERTAINMENT show - which it is - if it was a DANCE COMPETITION then BBC would audition for DANCERS - ie people who can DANCE instead they audition and approach people who can ENTERTAIN - which is why we have had in the past the likes of Julian Clary, Chris Parker, etc etc

I really cannot believe the hatred on here - just because someone isn't as good as anyone else - the BBC used to have a DANCE programme and that was axed due to falling popularity.

Why oh why the mods are allowing such blatent nastiness towards another human being is beyond me. Particularly when no doubt the celebs and their respective partners do drop in and read the forums

Methinks it is the the dance students on this forum spitting their dummies out - get over yourselves and let us mere mortals with no dance experience enjoy what is an ENTERTAINMENT programme and long may it continue in such a vein - I for one would turn off if they made it for people who could all dance to start with - and lets face it on that basis if the Beeb only ever signed up people who could actually dance at the time of audition then we wouldn't have had the delights of Mark Ramprakash and Darren Gough

No you're wrong, I want him to go because I don't find him entertaining at all and his dances are a part of the programme that has no appeal to me whatsoever. And to do what you say in the last paragraph you'd have to vote dozens of times for all the other dancers and even I don't have that much money.

You are also wrong in your second paragraph. This week, Rachel could have gone out through sheer bad luck and possibly an unlucky dance-off routine, whereas overall she is capable of winning the competition or at least reaching the final.

It's a pity though because I DO like Kristina. I hope she gets a better partner next year.
