digital output
I want to connect my PC to my hi fi using coax to play back mp3 files,they are 6m apart will a digital signal travel that far?

Should be fine as long as you use a reasonable quality lead. And that doesn't mean going to Comet and being conned into buying a £100 + Monster cable that probably only costs them 3 quid!
![]() I've run "domestic" digital up to 20m without too many serious problems. Though for long runs converting it to balanced format (sort of "semi-pro" AES format) does help a lot. But probably a bit overkill in this instance. |

Ideally you should be using 75 ohm cable. This will certainly help minimise problems over this kind of length. A random example being...
