I don't think turning up is necessarily a great reason, though I understand where you're coming from, but lots of performers cancel stuff because of illnesses and maybe she actually was ill! Chico himself turned up every week......

You dont have to. The OP only asked, its up to you to explain if you want to. Just like the OP has a right to ask if he want to.

It still makes me laugh that 90% of the replies include the word 'different' in. And of course other people have drems, but its about who is the most deserving which is proven through a contestents hard work.

OK thats your view. Mine is Diana is like both of them, Duffy and Adele. Which still gets back to the point that Diana is still like what is in the charts. So therefore she anything different than what is in the charts.

Too true. But I like the fact that since Diana's got this far it might mean that it turns into a more acceptable/credible route for similar artists.
There were two folksy/indie singers who made it quite far on American Idol this year.

I think there has been something of a change in the charts this year to an extent with artists like duffy and kings of leon getting to number one rathar than Rhiannna etc and maybe that's why Diana is so loved because of a change this year.

That's a good point, ai is usually won by an r and b singer or a country singer, kelly clarkson was kinda pop when she won, though she's changed her style now.
David Cook was the first real alternative singer to win AI, maybe there's something similar going on in x factor

As for american Idol that has also had different music genre from the start, therefore it is seen as more credible show to get ccredible artists from.
So I decided to look up your past posts as you weren't replying to mine - you claim you're a past contestant for two years running (this and year and the year previously) ....Is this just a case of sour grapes or were you just pretending to be Dominic Harris the rejected contestant?

I think with Cook they wanted another Daughtry type, except for the coming 4th part. It was refreshing to have the two others up there, though. Reflects the charts more.

LMAO That did actually muse me for a while. Yeah i had a joke with peeps, so what. Lol Thats the past.
But it still amuses me that diana fans will do anything to prove diana is 'The best. Is this not a talent competition anymore. And btw, Getting through to the finals does not reflect on talent in the slightest.

My comment was in reply to your post about contemporary artists not taking part in the x factor as it's somehow above them....
She is contemporary, she is in the show, and she has a good chance of winning.
Try learning how to reply to other posters in a civil and respectful manner, even if they don't agree with your point of view.

'S funny - American musicians say exactly the same about American Idol.
It doesn't really have credibility except it can usually produce a country singer and the country market is a realiable and dedicated one to sell to. It also has the 'rock' personas which we have less of, and a shedload of R&B singers. This is the first year (that I know of) that they've had remotely indie people get into the top 10.
ETA to drag it back on topic, indie people did well on AI it's pleasant for me to see more of that happening on XF as well.

Ask yourself why do awards shows like the Brits etc ignore artists from X factor. They think its a joke
