The question you're raising here is, are X factor fans who use Facebook likely to be a representative sample of the total viewing population of the TV show?
And I could quite easily see that it might not be the case that they would be. It would, perhaps, be more valid to say that Facebook users would be more representative of, say, the under age 30 or so sector of the viewing population.
End of the day, no real way to find out until we see the voting patterns over coming weeks.
