Yh, but in my opinion, if she could sing as good as whitney, celine, aretha etc (i think she is potentially thebest female vocalist btw) she should win. But would people still NOT vote for her because of her past?

Many would probably vote for her if she was a great singer.
It seems like her fans on DS want to believe that her past or her irritating overinflated sense of entitlement are the only reason/s she is widely disliked. If she was a good singer, most , including me, would be less resentful of her being in the competition. I would still dislike her, but if she could sing in time and in tune, or sing more than 5 notes without losing her tone, or sing anything without sounding like a goose and a foghorn being fused together against their will, I would not be so annoyed that she has stayed. The problem most who resent her being there have is that she is NOT as good as the others, including the last 2 who left who were miles better vocally. Even worse is that it is oddly cringeworthy to have to watch someone, even someone you dislike, be exploited for trainwreck telly. She seems aware of it, too, now, and xfactor are cold for deluding her into thinking she was good enough to compete with real semi/pro level performers/vocalists. |

If she could sing that well, I am sure she would get the votes. But she can't.

If you treat the contest purely as a singing competition, and Rachel could sing as well as Leona or Whitney, then she would deserve votes. Sadly, it's a reality TV show that exploits the competitors, and she can't sing to save her life, so the question is moot.

I thought she sounded awful on Sat but no one said anything.
Not even Simon. |

Well, if she did sound like Leona & Whitney, and not Rachel, of course her popularity would be different.
She may be more popular, she may be less, but of course we'll never know because Rachel is Rachel. |

This has really made me giggle - made me think of Joey from friends "the point is Moo". I have no problem with Rachel's background at all and if she could sing week after week well I would vote for her (except I don't actually vote until the final so the point is indeed moo). |

I prefer Rachel to either of them actually and until Rachel this year, Leona was the only person I had actually picked up the phone to vote for (the final) on the X-Factor.

Well, I dont vote, but if Rachel sang as good as Alexandra of Ruth then she would have my "support"
regardless of her background.I dont like her attitude, but it would be more justified if she could sing in tune. I didnt like Laura's style of singing, the same as I dont like Rachel's so I supported neither. Im not really interested in the sob stories so they arent really relevant to me, but I do find myself swayed on the behaviour of the contestants and Rachel certainly hasnt endeared herself to me on any levels, either singing OR personality. |

For a lot of people it's nothing to do with her past, but her arrogant attitude that puts them off. Winners have got to have likeable personalities, and she just doesn't. I guess no is your answer...

If Rachel had a voice like Leona she would deserve to win I would vote for her If Rachel has a voice like Leona but still kept her present attitude I would not vote for her But Rachels does not have a voice even remotely comparable...what she does have is attitude...I wouldnt vote for her in a month of Sundays |

I wouldn't, I'm not a fan of squealy warblers - I loved Rachels first audition, and sorry to say, she hasn't been as good since. If she could sound like that again, I might be tempted.but, in saying that, her attitude DOES suck - I'm thinking she thought she was going to breeze through XFactor, and its not been as easy as she imagined, if she works for it, she just might get it, but its NOT her due. |

the fact is she is nowhere near as good as them so the whole thread is irrelavant
But having said that yes i would vote for her As previous posts have stated Rachel fans seem blind to the fact that some people can recognise she is out of tune, forgets her words and has only had one good performance in the whole series |
