I wonder to what degree Ruth being in the bottom two twice is to her advantage. She is now my second fav (after Diana ) and would still be so even if Laura was still there too. That is almost certainly down to her Purple Rain and Knocking on Heaven's door.

Part of me hopes that she is in the bottom two each week from now on but getssaved by the judges so that we can hear her singing the songs she chooses freely for herslf an which she NAILS!!!

Its an advantage as she gets to do her own song and not the very bad theme week song.

They should sing what they want every week

I like your thinking - but I like Ruth way too much to want to see her go through that every week. It's too scary!

Ruth's bottom two performances are some of the best and most impressive I have seen in a long time, and in a way I am thankful that she was in the bottom two to give those performances!

I know. That's really why I said "part of me" as I wouldn't want to put her through that either and the "surviver guilt" that she seems to go through.

Well, if history is anything to go by, it means she won't win it. So far, the winners of each series have never been in the bottom 2.

Ruth shines when she's in the sing off. So much passion.

But I don't think she'll win. Being in the bottom two twice by week 5 is not a great sign.
