Can't be have Joe's sister instead? She's great on Celeb Scissorhands and I've got a crush on her

Soaps stars don't have any advantage on RTV... think Chris Bisson and Marc Spannerface or whatever his name is. So I hope he's got a stunning personality.

Nicola talks about not being a celeb and still going into the jungle:

She's a bit full of herself isn't she, reminds me of the BB housemates who think they are world stars after appearing on one reality show

I've heard of skeletons in the cupboard but some of these will look like skeletons in the jungle

From what I have seen of him on things like the Weakest Link he does have a good personality.

I'm actually quite impressed with the line up (excluding the WAGs and Policeman). Early fave is George for me

Anyone read Martina's biog on the official website...

'Having spent a lot of time in the bush, snakes don't bother her'.

Whoever wrote that deserves an award!

Met Brian Paddick during London Mayor campaign, great bloke - hes gonna surprise people a lot.

It is a crap line-up though, just a lot of "meh" people, nobody really exciting or attention grabbing. At least CBB has a few good names.

I know what you're saying, but I remember a few years ago when Antonio Fargas ('Huggy Bear' from Stytarsky and Hutch) was in it. Before the show started everybody was saying "Huggy Bear to win, he's the dude, he's a legend, he's the definition of cool. Antonio to win, he's a real LEGEND".

Then when the show actually started people suddenly came to their senses and said "Oh, I forgot,.... he was just an actor acting like a 'cool dude' on telly, in reality he's just an old man who likes to sit on his hammock all day not saying a lot".

Why are they all so old ?????

The average age is 50, which in itself is not so bad, but 3 are 70+ and 3 are 60+ - will one of these be a "casualty", even a "fatality" ?????

There's many a slip 'twixt cup and lip .....

I don't know why you're saying this because it implies that there must be something bad about older celebrities, and that somehow younger is better?

Why do you imply that being over 50 must be bad?
Is there something in particular which younger celebrities do which makes them better?

From what I've seen in these celebrity reality shows it's generally the older contestants who provide better value for money.
It's often the case that it's the older celebs who are more fiery, more argumentative, more opinionated, more anti-authoritarian, and more rebellious and fiery then their younger counterparts.
Not always, but often they tend to be.
I don't know why, but it's often the older celebs who project more of their personality and quite often it's the younger celebs who are often more conservative, more reserved, too careful, too conformist, and even ironically too 'old' and square.

Sometimes it's much better to watch an older celebrity who is a cantankerous old git who's set in their ways, who has more life experience, and who doesn't care so much so more freely speaks their mind, rather than watching a younger celebrity with an eye on their future media career who is less experienced and is too careful to preserve a type of image they want to project to viewers who they are overly careful to try not to offend.

Got to admit, now I've seen the line up I feel a bit disappointed. I was so hoping for Frankie Dettori too.
Might not bother watching either.

After spending a lot of time looking 90% of them up as I had never heard of them, I am left completely underwhelmed.

George Takei!! I was surprised to see his name, but he’s my initial favourite, I’m such a fangirl. I only hope he turns out to be a decent guy, I'll be so disillusioned if he’s cantankerous or mean. I don’t mind boring or quiet, I just don’t want him to be a horrible guy!

Kilroy and Martina will be interesting since they're know for being opinionated and not at all shy at expressing them I have no opinion on the WAGs only because I don't know much about them. Never heard of Nicole or Carly!

I think they've got an interesting mix. Should be good.

it's potentially a good line up. a trek guy, a sports star who happens to be a lesbian, a grand old dame of the bbc, an uptight self-righteous old has-been (kilroy silk), boy band bloke who might be game, couple of large breasted models, a gay police chief, an eastender....could be good...let's hope there's no whingers....and please please PLEASE let there not be a CATCHPHRASE JUNKIE.

nice one itv.

Who are they then? Are there three late entrants?
The average age is 45.

Why are there app. threads already?
Everyone ends up hating the one they thought they'd like (Biggins - tho' I liked him)
and loving the one they thought they'd hate. (David Gest).
