I may be the only person who sees John as the "SMUG" - well, he is. It's the "I'm sixty, look like Winnie The Pooh having a tea party, know how the public can be worked so I'll work 'em, and, well....I'm good".

I like the guy, think he's mildly funny, very intelligent and something like a warm blanket on a cold evening.

If it wasn't for Kristina, who deserves an accolade all of her own for ingenuity and kindness, I don't think John would have made it this far.

I was easily distracted watching him last saturday by my cat yawning....

Surely his time is up, yes?

“you have been sat to long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, i say, and let us have done with you. In the name of god, go!.”

Oliver Cromwell 1653.

Especially apt given the start to his last dance (sic)

Him and Kristina practice just near me - perhaps I should get Mrs. JJ to practice her driving skills down near the gym they use. That should result in a broken leg!!!

JJ (just idly musing(lol))

A philosophical question! If you Murder a dance, can you be said to "Finish it"? (lol)

So far in this competition, I have not sent any votes his way. However, If you lot continue to insult him and hound the rest of us with these silly threads, you will force me to rebel and vote for him numerous times on saturday no matter how he dances!!

I love what John brings to the show. It is an entertainment show and his dances are entertaining. I wish people would stop taking the whole thing so seriously - it's not professional dancing! And the judges! Dear God, they need to take a chill pill and stop being so melodramatic.

To me it is a dancing competition and he shouldn't be in it anymore.

Far less silly than some vitriol that is being leveled at him here and by some of the judges.

Except it's not really, is it? It's about 'celebrities' and aging comedians and judges who are completely wrapped up in their own sense of importance. It's an entertainment show. The producers picked John to go on there - was it for him to learn to dance or for him to provide 'light relief'?

Hardly silly to vote for the couple that entertain you the most! When will the John haters learn that this happens every year? Last year Kenny Logan came 5th!! He was a terrible dancer, but many people gained pleasure from his dancing! Same with Chris Parker, Julian Clary, Kate Garraway etc

I am of the opinion, I want to see celebs improve with their dancing and John has not improved... he is the same walking or marching around the floor, that isn't dancing.

He is the most entertaining and we all vote the way we vote. Let's remember John has been a political journalist/analyst for many years. To my mind he's using his skills to make this political , i.e. do you like me or the Judges and the answer is usually going to be we like you John and we will vote for you. Should it really be coming to this?
