Just thought everyone might like to know about this problem . Purchased one of these TV's 2 months ago and then three weeks ago got white lines at the top and bottom of screen but only on AV inputs ( Black screen white dotted lines top and bottom is very annoying ) Anyway Curry's Engineer came out with a new Main board and fitted it . TV was booted up It has now become a £600 Analogue TV the Main boards from Panasonic are all EU spec boards and not UK spec So no digital tuner fitted .As yet Panasonic cant give Curry's a date for the correct replacement boards to arrive in this country . I believe from the Engineer that I am not the only one . I was told by Currys that if they cant get one fitted in another 10 days then they will scrap the TV and give me a credit Note .Well what do you think about that then ??????
Oh! the white lines have been fixed and have now gone

Are they perhaps confused?, such boards usually come without the tuner fitted - this is to do with EU legislation and taxes.

It's normal to have to remove the tuner from the old board and fit it in the new one.

Might not be the case?, but it is with Sharp ones.

Have seen this when the picture overscan is turned off, but only on certain devices. That should be easily sorted in the menus though. Tell me the board details and I'll check that Curry's are not telling porkies. We've had no issues with any of the 08 LCD sets from Panasonic at all.
If the tuner is ENG37E09KF it's in stock an Panasonic right now. This seems to be the common tuner on the LXD/LZD set for this year.

The engineer from currys took the old board with him so I cant tell you what it is I can only go with what i have been told by Currys . I did complain to there complaints department .It will be interesting when they come to fit new part if they should have swopped board tuner .But having seen the set up menu when the engineer was setting up the board there was no UK option to high light and the boards looked identical as he did compare them . I would be worried but if they dont fix the set in the next 10 days ,one way or the other it will be replaced

Forgot to tell you Currys said the sets are not in stock at their Macclesfield branch and are not expected till the 21 Nov So I cant demand a new TV from the store I will let you know what happens
. The fault developed and was not there at first . So the over scan problem has not been altered allthough I dont know what that is anyway

Why dont you contact Panasonic direct, explain the situation and ask if the set could be repaired at your local Panasonic Repair agent. under guarantee?

I work for a local indie retailer, and usually if a new tv goes wrong (which is very rare- unless it's a humax lmfao!) we offer two options.
Option 1) If it's easy to repair we would of taken the tv and given you a loan Tv (of more or less the same spec!) Until the Tv was repaired.
And option 2) If we knew the part was going to take ages to get hold of (which in some cases it could well take a few months to get hold of) we would try and get the set swapped over if it was only a few months since you bought it.

TBH maddogf3 even though there might not be the same model at the branch you bought it from, but there will other branches near by that will or should have it in stock and most of the sets that curry's deliver are usually from a central stock wharehouse, so i'd complain to them either asking to either have a swap over and have the model from another branch or threaten them by asking for refund!

Remember the customer is always right!

Thanks for all the information . The "Tech Guys" as they like to be known actually took the tv away yesterday ,they said they couldn't get hold of a new mainboard of the correct spec . True or False I dont know . But they are sending vouchers to replace set . We actually took advantage of there Interest free credit ,which we always do why spend our money when you can use theirs and we always pay before the times up for them to charge us interest . Anyway it got very complicated with Finance company and curry's so we will accept vouchers and when they arrive we will replace it with the same . What bugs me is "Computer Says NO " to us ordering TV immediatly they took it . We have to wait for Vouchers .My wife did demand to stop the contract but they won in the finish .
