If friends arrange something I can attend (staying overnight if possible) I will attend.

Otherwise if friends are meeting locally I will go.

Will not go to a restaurant that night (price hike) or anywhere that requires a cab home (price hike).

If I have a quiet evening in it's no problem.

I hate the expectation that comes with New Year's Eve and the inflated prices. So, it will be just me and OH with a bottle of bubbly. I shall not be making any New Year's resolutions either !

ACTUALLY Johnor... I have a really good idea. You cook all the food we suggested for your Christmas Eve, and then we'll all come round .

I will be flying back from New York on New Year's Eve with OH and my mum so we'll probably have a really quiet night with some TV and a lot of wine.

I've no idea what we're doing yet!!! If we go to my Mum's party she lays on tons (and I mean tons) of food - that does for lunch and dinner on New Year's day too!!!

We may stay in and have a quiet one, in which case I'll knock up some nibbles.

As of yet though who knows!!

I'm leaving work on Christmas Eve at about lunchtime, stopping off at Waitrose for a few last minute bits and pieces and then staying inside the house for the next ten days. The plan is to veg about with my husband seeing no-one, eating, drinking, watching the telly and making mad passionate love, if we could be bothered. So that's what I'll be doing on NYE, don't bloody disturb me.

I wont be going anywhere. Hopefully I will get a bottle of champagne at Xmas time (my boss normally buys me one) so i will save it for NYE.

I plan to veg in front of a film / TV, drink wine / champagne .... and eat choccies.

Won't be going anywhere unless it's walkable from my house and definitely not a restaurant.

coming back from London on the train and praying no one wants to do owt, if you go out you cant move in town (ok, hen i was under 25 not so ok now im nearly 35) and i cant be arsed having people round like last year to mess up the house, nor can i be arsed to go round anyone elses house because taxi's are few and far between even at 8 in the morning.

Think i and my husband will rescue Ren from the kennels, have a bloody good home cooked posh meal (scallops and venison and all that shite), a few bottles of fizzy (perhaps even real champagne, just to be extra wanky) and a few class A's for dessert. We got 4 days to recover as well.

my plans involve no food! last year stayed in for the first time with my boyfriend, was supposed to be all romantic, he fell asleep on the sofa at about half ten. I watched the tele infront of the fire. BIG LET DOWN! This year I'm back out on the lash with my mates. I love new years!

Having a bad taste party - the worst that anyone can find from their local charity shop.
My mums in the lead ATM with a pink and mauve shell suit, with white and silver stillettos

All Mexican food - Chilli, Fajitas, Nachos, Enchilladas

.........everyone is welcome

Great idea:.

We live in Scotland out in the sticks so we have a big party here every other year -I may borrow your idea if you don't mind

Everyone brings loads of gorgeous food - they're all farmers and a LOT of whisky

We have mad games, Scottish country dancing-most of us just make it up as we go along, a juke box, bonfire and fireworks at midnight.

Everyone goes home VERY happy
