Assuming you have ticked the boxes to let iTunes manage your library and to copy all music into iTunes folder ( the default ) , then you simply need to drag a copy of your iTunes folder to your external HDD..that will move all the music folders and the four files iTunes uses to maintain library, artwork etc.

Or if you fancy spending a little money - try the Apple TV - www.apple.com/ukstore - works a treat

I use an external HDD and Acronis True Image Home to backup my entire PC.

If your PC's drive fails you will want to restore everything, not just your iTunes music!

Shops around here charge about £50 for an external USB2.0 160Gb hard disc drive.

You have the option to drag and drop copy from your PC to the external drive, or buy some software to clone your PC onto the external drive.

>>You have the option to drag and drop copy from your PC to the external drive<<

That's okay for backing up Word documents and mp3 files, but to backup a PC you need a full image so that you get all your user accounts, registry settings, applications, etc.

Good lord no!

You can get 1TB external USB drives for around £80 now.

You can certainly get a lot more than 160gb for £50!

1TB .... £80 .... free delivery.
