Big jump - little flaming success again as my box locked up completely after the TUTV screen that presumably goes with the "upgrade". Had to do a power reboot to get it to respond with the consequence that my EPG is now 1 day

Is it still 1 day?....cos after a reboot it usually takes a few minutes for it to re-populate.

BTW, this version has now been taken off air temporarily as it is causing problems for Setanta subscribers

Not a sentata subscriber so I can't blame it on that - now back to an 8 EPG - maybe tomorrow I might find a 14 day one and series link (which is more niggling being missing than the 14 day EPG).

Since the upgrade Setanta hasn't worked on my box I am getting for free at the moment so can't really complain.

Also my library is now showing 95hrs free recorfing time, is this a bug, real or do I need to factory reset my box.

Cheers

My box doubled in exisiting memory, I think the new upgrade interferred with a recording in the afternoon but later ones not, has this upgrade freed up the partioned spaces for TUTV on the hard drive.

Mine gained about 30Gb on the HDD - I'm hoping that's because the OS can address more memory and the HDD is a bit over sized but reading posts above I think that's just optimism.

They had fixed the problems with FFwd and Rv so far as I could tell, but the box has just revered to 2.99 *sighs* As I don't subscribe to Senanta I don't mind that particular bug! lol

fingers crossed they'll have a fixed version out soon....

Another "upgrade" on mine too - back also to 2.99.
Still no series link or 14 dayEPG

Mine was working great with the new update, Then it downloaded another and i thought great they fixed the setanta bug quick. Turned out it was reverted back to buggy 2.99.
I have forced my system back to 3.31 as i don't have top-up no it and the box has worked flawlessly all day fast forwarding, deleting etc.
If you want to force it back to 3.31
Press the Menu button, select Setup, select Help, then enter 1397
A extended menu appears. select the 3.31 stored option and let the system restore to it.

3.31 is downloaded onto most people's DTRs as Code Image 2. When the 2.99 update downloads, it replaces 3.31 as Code Image 2. So you end up having 2.99 for both image slots.

I think its a temporary fix and it looks like it applies for all Top Up TV customers (including the Setanta only customers).

Reverted mine forward to 3.31.

Found an option in the DTR Setup menu for the EPG (was it there before) - the default is 8 day Freeview +, you can revert back to the original 14 day TUTV EPG if you wish. Freeview + apparently will start and stop the recording when the program is it is actually transmitted, and has series link

ver 2.99 didn't overwrite the 3.31 on my machine.
It downloaded 3.31 which ran for most of the day. Then it received the rebroadcast 2.99.
I read later on another forum that you could still revert to 3.31 which wouldnt be a problem aslong as you don't receive setanta.
Just checked mine on the engineering menu and block 2 is still 3.31 and still running this version since changing back yesterday!

Hi
My box has been saying for 4 days that an upadte is available in the message section and a trip to the advanced section shows "1. 2.99 current" and "2. 3.31"
I have rebooted and left in standby but the upgrade has not taken place?
How can I force as when I select the latest version or infact the current, I have no options to do anything?

Thanks in advance for any help

Regards
Nick

Have you been using 3.31 since it was broadcast? That'll explain why you've still got it on your DTR.

You must have had 2.99 on the first image and when 2.99 was re-broadcast, it ended up installing over the 2.99 image you had earlier. Which explains why you still have a 3.31 installed as you were using it at the exact time you received the re-broadcasted 2.99 update.

However, if you had reverted back to 2.99 (image 1) and then received the re-broadcasted 2.99, it would have replaced 3.31 in your second image and deleted 3.31. This is what happened with my DTR.

Not aware of 3.31 having been installed. The last time I looked 2.99 was in both images.
The question is how to you switch from one to the other.
On my old 4000 box it was easy as it told you to press one of the coloured buttons?

My box has lost all recordings in the library, no series link and has failed to record 3 programmes and one of them stopped recording have way through a film.
I've noted some of the advice in this thread, but I don't know what to make of this new software, any comments.

Thanks in advance

Checked my box last night and it had reverted back to 2.9
and all my recordings appeared along with series link.
My question is where did these recordings go when the new upgrade wiped the library?

Thanks in advance

Hi guys, I'm over from the Digifusion forum to mention, if you do not know about this yet, that a few Digifusion 4TV compatible PVR's appear to be Freeview+ ready (the 400's) and it seems to me that Thomson have been having problems over the last few months getting it to work with the 4TV 14 day OAD system they inherited when they took 4TV over.

Digifusion 400 users keep getting various channels from BBC and ITV showing up as 'No Programme Information Available' on the day of broadcast, whilst the subsequent 13 days all appear fine. I am almost certain that's why in your software update 3.31 you have been given the option of a standard 8 day EPG with Freeview+ or 14 day EPG without. By Freeview+ I mean the fancy stuff like series link and accurate recording start, and not basic rewind and fast forward functions.

I guess Thomson had to do something, as ITV are now showing Christmas build-up adverts promoting Freeview+, which works fine on PVR's with the 8 day EPG. Whether or not Thomson eventually manage to get all of Freeview+'s features working with their 14 day EPG OAD's is a mute point.

Would this upgrade (to 3.31) account for unpopulated items in the EPG - on my Dad's box it looks like stuff (on BBC1) is not populating the EPG after about 12 hrs hence - certainly no stuff in there tomorrow for the Beeb.

Some other channels seem Ok but the absence of some 'main' channels have caused planned recordings on these (obviously!) to fail.

Any thoughts?

Is this with the Freeview+ 8 day EPG or the TUTV 14 day extended EPG?

Caution, if you switch between the two different EPG types you will lose future planned recordings and series links and will have to set them up again.

I believe it used the 14 day EPG although I'm not that familiar - I didnt know you could swap EPGs?

I would be surprised if this had anything to do with the problems Digifusion 400 users have been having, as the Thomson's 14 day EPG still does not have the Freeview+ facility enabled (why else would they offer an 8 day EPG option ) So things should remain just as they were with 2.99, unless Thomson have tinkered with their standard 14 day EPG for some other reason.

The problem you are experiencing are different from Freeview+ on 4TV's OAD, which at present stops certain channels on the day of broadcast from being listed, but allows recordings of programmes on those channels to still take place automatically, provided they had been set up a day or more beforehand.

The only way to make a recording on the day of broadcast for an unviewable channel with the Digifusion 400 is to set it up manually using the timing information.

With version 3.31 you can choose either the TUTV 14 day EPG which has series link....or the Freeview+ 8 Day EPG, which has series link (but not as good as the 14 day EPG) and accurate recordings, and alternative recordings.

As Psionic says though, if you switch between the 14 day to the 8 day EPG's or vice versa, you will lose Planned Recordings, as the 2 systems aren't compatable

The Digifusion and Thomson (TUTV DTR) use different EPG's

The Digifusion and older Thomson DHD PVR's download their EPGs at 3am, the Thomson TUTV DTR downloads its EPG at 11:30am
