250MB limits
What does this actually mean? If I use 251MB I'll have my account capped?
What does the 251MB relate to? Is it downloads of music, or "downloads" of web pages (if the latter, what does the average page on DS equate to)? http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk/mo...?show_net=best Click on "Racoon £35 + £5 Blackberry Unlimited 18m" What is the difference c/w this one: http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk/mo...?show_net=best "O2 1200 min + Unlimited sms 18M" "All data is charged at £3 per MegaByte (MB) until you reach the £1 cap. Therefore after you have used 1/3rd of a MB your data usage is FREE! Not available with Blackberry devices" |

Each provider has different terms and conditions, so you should look at them before buying. For example, The O2 Web Bolt-On (for CONTRACT tariffs) has no limits in terms of megabytes but rather in what you can use the bolt-on for.
Other providers may have a limit and will warn you when you go over. If you repeatedly go over then they may ask you to change tariff, or limit your use, or reduce your speed. Depending on their policy. |

There's an ad in the corner of the paper today for 3's USB broadband dongle. It says: "5GB Mobile Broadband = 6.5 hours surfing a day!"
That seems rather optimistic. What do they surf on, Lynx? |

I'd like to see your reasoning behind that. The figure you quote is for surfing. A digitalspy page is about 200k, so 5GB represents over 20,000 pages in a thirty day period. This is about 600 pages a day. Even if you look at a heavier page say 1MB, it will be over 100 pages a day.

Most people will never hit these limits. The most I have used on my iPhone is 54MB in one month.

But we were talking about surfing, not downloading. belleville said that 6.5 hours a day would soon eat up the data allowance and then we pointed out it wouldn't.

That depends if you download applications or not, some games are over 20mb alone. 5 Games = 100mb. In which case you could use 250mb a week if you like your apps.
iPhone is probably the best web browsing device and as nice as it is to use I can't see myself using it 6.5 hours a day. |
