This has happened before ....talented contestants have been voted off prematurely and tactically...but this time they went one step too far! They manipulated the situation to allow Laura to be voted off and the problem is that she isnt just another good singer...she is an exceptional singer!.

It is akin to having voted off Leona Lewis at the same stage...there would have been just as much of an uproar! Contestants of this class come along once in a blue moon and hence the public backlash. When we still have the likes of Daniel in the competition the whole thing just loses credibility!

I assume that the "they" you are referring to is the public? They are the only ones to blame for Laura being eliminated.

But Laura didn't have the public support, Leona did.

And imo, Leona is in a different class to Laura, I didn't rate Laura at all.

Sorry but it's not XFs fault, Laura got presented in a better light than other contestants, like Daniel, yet she still didn't have the support.

Well, no, the public are partly to blame for assuming she'd be safe. The judges also could have saved her. Louis should have let it go to the public vote at least imo.

You're honestly comparing Leona to Laura are you? Sorry, that really made me laugh.

The only people this year that come close to Leona are Diana and Ruth.

Why? I thought it was about saving the better singer, based on the Sing off? Hence the reason she got booted.

another thread trying to convince people that Laura is somehow a good singer. She just isn't. Shes a passable Jazz singer with an awful diction problem and a tendency to shout. The british public could see that, hence not voting for her.

Hey, chill mate. It's only a few comments being made. Don't worry, your Ruthy babe is safe, for this week anyway.

Laura was a good singer but no where near the standard of Leona Lewis. Laura didn't have the public support and so was in the bottom two, where Ruth out-sang her and Laura was rightfully eliminated.

Yeah it would have been good to get rid of Daniel or Eggnog but the public are voting for them for some reason.

The public had the chance to save her by voting.

They opted not to take it.

Hence, Laura was eliminated. Those are the rules.

You forgot to mention, in your opinion. There's many thousands who have petitioned to say you're incorrect. Even professionals have commented towards the huge talent Laura has.

Haha sorry its just i'm getting sick to death of people banging on about laura.. it hasn't really got anything to do with Ruth. When Austin got booted out there wasn't half as much fuss, even though he was 10x better in my opinion. I know it was a shock that she left but it's been almost a week now its the next live show tomorrow yet people are STILL going on about it ! It's time to move on.. she's gone and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

It never really had any credibility to start with

if laura was as popular as leona she wouldn't have been in the bottom 2

Why have OFCOM said they'll investigate the numerous calls and emails sent to them for people being unable to vote due to problems with her vote line? It'll be interesting to see what the outcome is tbh.

Personally I was more surprised and disappointed to see Austin in the bottom two and out the week before.

If my friends, family, colleagues, etc were anything to go by, Laura didn't have massive extensive support. Most people I know found her voice irritating, her vocal style affected and fake, her diction almost incomprehensible and her stage presence unattractive.

Why have OFCOM said they'll investigate the numerous calls and emails sent to them for people being unable to vote due to problems with her vote line? It'll be interesting to see what the outcome is tbh.
They have to. Even before the phone scandals they have always had to.

This happens every time someone expected to do better gets voted out of any of these shows. Interestingly enough the time that issues with phone votes were found to have altered a result and the time that there was evidence to suggest that votes had been "bought" were not investigated.

Because so many people complained I guess, like with Rhydian last year. And I'd guess the outcome will be the same too.

Yeah but what is this petition going to do ? Ok it's nice you want to show her support but it's not going to bring her back in the competition.

Absolutely!

I'm glad that people are still going on about this a week later. Suggests longevity to me. May she have an awesome career as she thoroughly deserves. Hurrah!

Ruth was better in the sing off, by far, so Laura went. The public didn't back her, and she stumbled at the final hurdle. She's never coming back, so get over it.
