help connecting dvd tv humax surround sound
tv sony bravia kdl-40p3020
humax foxat acqustic solutions 5.1 (has optical in) dvd player wii foxat connected to tv via hdmi,and 5.1 via optical cable. dvd player only has optical in , can i connect the dvd player via scart to foxat and get 5.1 sound out of sound system i have tried but can only get sound from dvds by tv speakers . also when i scan tv for hdmi devices connected it says none connected yet the humax foxat is connected with a hdmi cable thanks for any help |

Are you sure the DVD player only has an optical in. I can't think of any use for that at all, its much more likely to be an output.
You will not get 5.1 over scart, its incapable of carrying the required digital signal. If you only have one optical input on your amp you could use an optical switch to connect more devices. |
