My 18 month contract with Three runs out on 25th Dec. I have the Nokia E61, currently paying £20/month for 500 mins and 100 texts (Talk&Text 600). I thought it was a bit pricey, as I'm paying £10/month for the same tariff on my other Three contract, but I got free TomTom with phone so balanced out.

Anyways, I REALLY want the E71 however they best they can offer me is £24/month for Mix n Match 500 plus 300 3-to-3 mins. If I want to stay on the same tariff I have to pay £200 for handset. I requested PAC on 24th October, and haven't heard anything back since.

Ideally I want the E71 free and the same tariff for less on a 12 month contract. It would be a miracle if I got this, but any suggestions/tactics on how I can get something similar?

Thanks.

I recently went for a E71 on 3 for the wife. She has 450 minutes and 250 texts (plus some video/mms/download). Managed to get the E71 for nothing just 2 weeks ago.

That is a decent deal. Just a few questions:

How much per month?
Contract length?
How long have you been with them?
Was that deal offered or you had to do some negotiation?
Black or White E71?

You don't have to answer, but would help me a lot thanks

Ooops, sorry I thought I'd missed out something important when i wrote it

How much per month? £15
Contract length? 18mth
How long have you been with them? This is the 3rd term
Was that deal offered or you had to do some negotiation? Asked for more, settled on this
Black or White E71? Grey

lol no worries.

That is not a bad deal at all. I decided to give them a call, and was offered this deal:

Same tariff (500mins 100txts), £20/month, 12 month contract and E71 free.

What do you guys think? Should I hang on for a better deal (and risk no E71's being available) or go for this deal which is decent.

Have they offered you a 'loyalty discount' on you current contract price? I have had the 500 mins 100 texts for £15/month since 10 months ago so requested an upgrade and got an e71 for £30.

No they haven't really given me any discount on my tariff. I wouldn't mind your deal. is that 12 or 18 month contract?

I said no to their other deal and have about 10 days left of my contract. How long should I wait before I ring them back?

Internet Max add-on free for first month, £5 for next 8 months

What do you guys think?

I think that is a very good deal. Especially on a 12 month contract. Did they make up the 600 Mix and Match tariff? I cant see it in their brochure.

Thanks. Yeah I was surprised that they accepted 12month contract as I'm just coming to the end of an 18month contract.

I think they have discontinued the Talk & Text 600 and only offer it to customers who were already on it.

depends if it is a 600 mix and max offer or 300 mix and match of text or mins not 300 of each and the op got confuddled ?

And is the internet is free for first month and then £5 per month for 11 months not 8 ?

It's definitely Talk & Text 600 (500 mins and 100 txts), I've been on that tariff for the last 18 months and the guy said I'll continue to be on the same one.

The internet is free for 1st month and then £5/month for next 8. I can then choose to have it for the last 3 or not.

Sounds like the old business plan offered to individuals as its same mins and texts , but from memory it was £25 to businesses

Thanks.

It used to be £30, but I have a £10 loyalty discount on this contract and £20 on my other contract (same tariff).

Next question - how do you get a loyalty discount?

My current tariff was discounted when i started my 18 month contract - this was £10 too - is this the same?

Yes it is the same as the discount given at the start. However, sometimes the loyalty discount can increase the longer you are with them.

It would appear to me not to take the first offer from Three and really push for a much better offer.

I am due an upgrade on jan 3rd with Three. I have a nokia 6120 paying £15 a month on the texter plan. What do you think I could manage to get on the same plan? I really want the N95 but I doubt they will give me that for free on that tariff. Just not sure what I can ask for.

Have you called them to give a 30 day cancellation notice?

Huh? No, but on month 15 they allow you to upgrade which is what I plan to do.

Oh ok I thought you meant your current contract ends on 03/01. To be honest, I would wait a little while if you want to get a good deal, as right now they may just give you the deals already on the site. The really good deals are offered when you ask for your PAC or hand in cancellation notice.

On the other hand, the N95 has been out for a long time and the N96 has come out as well, so you may just be able to get it for free with a bit of persuasion.

Thanks, I will try for the N95, but the INQ is also tempting as it comes with unlimited internet and texts for £15 a mth.

Im so pissed off.....spent 40 minutes on the phone with the most irritating advisor ever!

my phone didn't arrive today so rang them up and after trying to explain over and over again, I was told that there had been a 'global' system error meaning that my phone had not been even sent out!

she kindly put in another request to send my phone and said the earlier I can receive the phone was 29th Dec because of the xmas period

Sorry to hear that Killer, but at least you have somethin to look forward to after xmas now!

I think I may go for the Nokia 6600 Slide when my upgrade date comes. It's £99 on the £15 texter plan, but free on the £20 one, so I think I will blag it and say unless I can have it free, I will leave when my contract ends.

I would ask for the N95 but thats £249 lol I doubt they will give me that free on a texter plan.

The only other one I would probably be guaranteed is the INQ as that comes with it's own £15 a mth plan, but I really would prefer a Nokia.

Is the 6600 Slide any good?

Am I getting the upgrade procedure wrong though? Surely they only have a few options and you can't negotiate any other handset??
