The families.
I have noticed that some have said Tommys family have come onto the boards because he was the winner of Teen BB, and something about money from mags etc. I can tell you that Tommy definitly didnt win, it has been in the press who the winner was, I think you will find its someone who people thought didnt have a hope.
As for Tommys family coming on the board, they were told to to drum up support for the programme, not only this board but others as well, all the familes were, I dont know if any others did, but the parents of one of the house mates is a freind of mine and I know she did come onto the board to start posting but that was after Tommys family did and when she saw they got a slating she decided against it. Tommy does keep in touch with the housemates and he has not been paid for any story in any mag, in fact he has not even spoken to a mag. it has been in heat a couple of times but the story was taken from other snippets of news papers. I just thought I would let you all know that the family members did not come on here for attention, or to get support for Tommy specificaly, I know you may not beleive it but thats the truth. |

Re: The families.
Just curious, but who said to drum up as much interest as possible?
Quite ironic using this forum - it has one of the biggest BB following on the net (if not the biggest) ... this forum never closes - there is always something about BB As for the TeenBB winner - I have not done any searching to find out more about this show as I really don't want to know to be honest. I will find out (hopefully) on Friday. I think I said elsewhere, but usually families of contestants would generally receive a huge welcome ... This forum really is one of the better ones, one where personal attacks towards other members is not tolerated. Forum members can be cutting towards contestants, whatever the show, but its not personal and its something they should expect if they have followed previous BBs on the net before Go Jade ... you show 'em gal |

They were told by Endemol and Channel 4, they must have known this was the biggest forum thats why they were asked to post on here, I have seen some of the posts written after Tommy family posted, some were fine and very nice, but some were just not so nice, it did seem that it made things worse for Tommy, although all this happened before BB started, since then I have not read many critical things about him, of course they were expecting some horrible stuff to be written, even without them coming on the board, thats part of the price you pay for going on the show, I have actually spoken to the family and they are not the sort to be all over protective and say their kids never do things wrong, but I suppose when we see in real life bad things written it can be hurtful no matter how much we say it doesnt bother us. My friend has seen some of the things written about her daughter, and I have to admit she did come across very very badly in the show, and I cant stick up for her where that is concerned, but as I have said, stay away from all of the forums if it upsets you that much.
Hopefully when the last show is aired on Friday the fuss will die down and we will hear no more about it. |

I'm pretty sure Tommy's brother Gareth made a point of saying not so long ago in a round about way that they they had been told not to post, now you are saying the opposite, so what's the truth? after all you seem to know an awful lot about what happens on the programme. http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/...11#post1368611 |

What happened was, and of course I cant speak for the other families, but they did post on the Channel 4 forum and someone from channel 4 told them to stop as it was getting out of hand with the posters slagging the housmates off, it was a bit of a mess at the time, I have said before I dont think family members, or of course housemates themselves should post on any of the forums, purely for the fact that some people, and I know its a minority, will slate the housemates just because their family post on the forums, I said I am a good freind of one of the housemates mothers and she does tell me most things, she does keep in touch with the other families so thats how I know so much.

It has a lot of the original BB1 feel to it that I like and would like to see in the next BB as this year, BB4 was a waste of space really (apart from getting to know Mr Tickle that is). Probably the families involved should of beein viewing and posting here throughout BB4 to give them a feel of how this forum works ... I think this forum, so far, has been gentle with the contestants - you should of been around in BB3 !!! |

I am a member of the C4 forum as well as this one, but I very rarely post on the other one as I prefer the majority of posters on this one, as they seem to show a more mature attitude in their posts. So as I see it then, it seems Gareth wasn't warned off posting on this forum just the C4 one, so he got a bit mixed up with that one then.

ok, I totaly agree with you about this forum on the channel 4 one its seems to be mostly 13-14 year olds who post, and you cant really have a decent discussion with them as they get all childish and stupid. At least with this forum you can have a decent argument, or discussion without being called childish names, although I have seen a few choice names banded about, but thats going to happen no matter which forum you go on.

susann .. funny i had to go back on that thread too today to check as i thought there had been a contradiction
i also find it rather cheap of endomol to get the families to post to advertise TBB and then get let down by their own forums tackiness ... i have also looked over there and some of the post titles are rather vile to say the least Hi end1 .... can i ask you as you have inside info ...did the teen HMs get £30 a day just as the normal HMs did ? |

END1 ...all the other HMs before have had an agent pretty much as soon as they get out of the house
do any of the teen HMs have an agent to get them through these next few weeks ? if so have they had them recently or have they been around since they came out the house ? |

They didnt get an agent when they came out of the house, but now its been televised the publicity officer at channel 4 deals with all press releases etc. Some of them have had offers for the radio and some TV shows but channel 4 dont want them to do anything untill the whole thing is finished, especilay Tommy and Jade as as the moment the press etc are just interested in that incident, and channel 4 want them to see that they did more in the house than just that. Some of them have done their own thing like radio and local newspapers.
Johnny Reagan has been in contact with Tommy offering advice and the name of the agent he uses, he has also spoken to the parents of some of the other housemates, Channel 4 have adviced them to be very wary of him as he could be getting paid by the press to get them to talk, they said he was very bitter with channel 4 about something but wouldnt say what. |

They were all taken to the endemol offices to speak with Ray Shah, from what I have been told he was really nice, much better than when he was in BB, A lot of the family members think Johnny might be bitter because he didnt win BB, he did think he had it in the bag, and because Jade Goody and Kate Lawler have gotten a bit more publicity than he has. I know I have a lot of info but as I said my best freind is the mother of one of the housemates and I have been with her from Day one, I have also been with her on her visits to the offices and to the party when they came out of the house, and she confides in me about everything.

The more I read about Channel 4 and Endemol and the way they treat BB contestants the more disgusted I get with the whole thing. |

I couldnt agree with you more Edna, they have totaly dumped them, Tommy and his parents are having to deal with the press etc all by themselves, Ch.4 have gotten what they wanted out of them and thats that.

Originally posted by END1 Yep, that's not fair on the families. Channel 4 only seem to want to keep enough control so they can order the contestants and families around as it suits them. Post on the forums, don't post on the forums etc.I couldnt agree with you more Edna, they have totaly dumped them, Tommy and his parents are having to deal with the press etc all by themselves, Ch.4 have gotten what they wanted out of them and thats that. From what I've read it's a criticism from a lot of former housemates that they get dumped in a lot of grief and left to fend for themselves and a lot of former housemates get in touch with the newer ones to offer help and advice because they've been though it all themselves. Little wonder Johnny Regan got irked and it's sad to see Channel Four resorting to a smear campaign against him. |

Being cynical you would have to say that any contract entered into by contestants and their families relating to post show activity just reflects the power balance pre-show
The contestants are desperate to get in and C4 know this They will sign anything, and if they won't there are loads others that will |

That is true, but without them there would be no show, Ch.4 could at least help them out for a little while when they come out, they know what is going to happen, its unfair to let them deal with it alone.

I guess so, but I think they would have been sussed in the end, its like some of them post on the other forums posing as freinds, but you can tell a mile off they are really either related or the housemates themselves

after all you seem to know an awful lot about what happens on the programme.
