Hear, hear! I thought it was a nice injection of comedy given "SargeantGate" at the minute, it was welcomed in fact.
Let's face it Anton totally owned Bruce!

It's not surprising at all. You see Anton on ITT or Breakfast almost every single week, and then dance with Tess in CIN, now singing and dancing alongside Bruce in the main show. Today's show actually have kind of 'passing the baton' feel. I wouldn't be surprised if he'll take over Bruce next year. Not a bad thing really, nothing wrong with Bruce, but he's 80 and he need to retire one day. Running a huge live show like this is way too stressful, though people don't necessarily appreciate it. I find it hard just to give a 15 presentation, and Bruce and Tess is working with like 200 people at the same time and it was live. As he always say, anything go wrong people alway blame the host. Anton do need more experience though. Maybe we'll see him host part of the show later this series.

Bruce's hallmark cheese, but I enjoyed it. Mind you, if he was in the competition and being kept in week after week for performances like that I might have something else to say about it

Just butting in to say I loved it and have thought for a long time that Anton is Brucie's natural 'successor'. Nowt wrong with a bit o' cheese...there's enough cynicism in entertainment, these days, and it was a welcome change. A bit twee, maybe, but beautifully done.

It was funny and entertaining, I would rather watch Anton and Brucie than Tom Jones, or JS plodding about.

Anton has brilliant comedic timing.......

Anton is a born performer, be it dancing or just entertaining! I have his DVD Simply Ballroom and he is a brilliant presenter on it, and can actually just talk to an audience at ease. I love him, he's a gem. Not sure about him taking over from Brucie cos I think there may be an uproar if Bruce leaves, but I love the fact that Anton is still involved in the show even though he was voted out.

It was incredibly sweet, entertaining and made me laugh. Or at least chortle merrily along. It's easy to forget he is 80!

I have that DVD as well His stand up routine is genius, he really does have a natural sense of comedy, it just flows.
It does seem like the Beeb are grooming him for great things and I would welcome it, I think Anton would have no problemo takin' up Bruce's mantle.

In DWS this year, they have had a week which Len didn't do (apparently pre-arranged but also to give him a break from the weekly transatlantic commute) with a 'guest' judge - in this case, Michael Flatley. Although I didn't necessarily take to it, there is no reason why to 'ease' Anton in, the Beeb couldn't to some extent divide the presenter role in two, giving Bruce a bit of a break.

I felt quite clearly that tonight was a significant handover - which only Bruce could have approved.

Hail to Bruce's chosen successor. I can see it happening next year. Replayed a bit of series 3 while doing some editing today and the difference in the way Bruce looks is rather sad, I hadn't noticed before. Not saying he's at all past it but think he'd be very wise to call it the last series this year and go while he can still do it. The most thing was his difference in height. He used to be quite a bit taller than Tess. Not now.

As for people moaning about the point oh FGS. I'm seriously tempted to wonder why anybody bothers to do anything. It left me a warm glow. Go and play in the cess pit of Jonathon Ross if that sort of thing amuses you instead and leave us who still like proper entertainment to wallow.

Yeh I had noticed that throughout the series he seems a bit sad. Tis a shame cos he's amazing, but couldn't think of anyone better than Anton to take over. Bruce keeps doing the joke, I'm not doddery, doddery Im.......NOT! I think he might not be that pleased about leaving but realises that it is kinda time to. If he is I hope that he thoroughly enjoys his retirement, God knows he's earned it!

Too damn right he has. I think the running gag about Anton being the love child is leading up to the moment...possibly in the final that Bruce hands over the reins.

Anton as a host would be ace, but who would partner Erin? We can't lose her!!

She could still be a professional and compete and even now and then when the professionals dance together Anton will perform and Tess can present that bit. They can't get rid of Erin now considering only she and Camilla are the only girls to have been in all 6 series.

Heaven preserve us from the obnoxious Anton as presenter!!!! Tonight was absolutely cringeworthy and embarassing in the extreme.

I loved it and think Anton would be the perfect successor!
He does a great job with his bit of 'James Bond' presenting in ITT.

Flavia could be the new Tess as she works well with Anton.....but Erin to partner Vincent??? maybe not.

It was pleasant. Nice to see that Bruce can still do a bit of "twinkle toes" and Anton's ballet was fun. It was all very mild but nice.

What others have said about Anton being Bruce's successor struck me too.

Terrible stuff.

Anton DuBeke should be banned from British television, permenantly!

Why do they insist on throwing him in our face at every turn? You can just tell they were gutted he was out so soon.

i THOUGHT IT WAS GOOD FUN, BUT COULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT THE STUPID CHAT IN THE MIDDLE.

THINK ANTON IS BEING GROOMED TO REPLACE BRUCE!
