Windows Mobile dilemma
We have a little dilemma at work.
Do we go for the new Blackberry Storm, or move to a windows mobile device? we were thinking the Omnia or the HTC diamond Touch, anyone had any experience with these phones? We all have blackberry pearls at the moment, and they have been good, but we fancy a change. there are 26 of us on our current Vodafone contract, and again we are looking at maybe a move to O2 or Tmobile. Anyone have any thoughts on the above? |

Samsung Ominia's are nice WMD - but I'd stay clear of the HTC Diamond. The HTC Touch HD seems to be much improved, and I'd maybe look at that if it's Windows Mobile you fancy.
However, the email experience you have on your BlackBerry's is never the same on a WMD. It has the capability, just doesn't deliver as well. The BlackBerry Storm is one phone I can't comment on as I've never used it, but it's a great looking phone and spec wise is similar to the Storm which is an excellent phone. Considering you have Pearls are you wanting full QWERTY keyboards, or something similar? |

personally in the enterprise sector i'd only ever have a blackberry at present, they are so far ahead of the rivals.

Think Active Directory, SharePoint, IRM, Mobile Office, Intellisync, Mesh, auto download of mail subfolders, and so on. |

I think cost wise, a blackberry and a WMD would be similar, we can get the Pearl for about £200, the Storm for about £400 ish.
Not sure on the WMD pricing though. Qwerty would be nice, as I struggle with having fingers like sausages, and dont like the Pearl too much, keys are too small for me. Just wondering if having WM would be better than having Blackberry. We use Microsoft Dynamics CRM, which we would be able to get a mobile version of onto any windows mobile device. Network wise, we are on Vodafone, and dont have a problem with them, but are looking at Tmobile as they are significantly cheaper, and it would free up more money for devices. |

I have the HTC Touch Diamond. I am rather pleased with it, apart from when it is really slow. Seems to happen if the device has been left on for a number of days and when it has ran a few applications and then I've closed them.
Would be better going for a device with a hardware keyboard such as the HTC Touch Diamond Pro. I've not owned a PDA with a hardware keyboard yet though I've had a look at a friends Nokia E71 which is very much like a Blackberty in appearance and it seemed to be good for typing with anyway. Wouldn't go near anything from Samsung or LG myself. Stick to looking at HTC devices, Blackberry, maybe some Nokia and Sony Ericsson's such as Xperia X1. |
