A few days ago I started a thread entitled "Rachel, Sweet But Dull." It basically stated how good a dancer Rachel was, but I was left disapointed as she seemed to be holding back and I didn't see any spark in her performance. I wanted her desperately to do a Gethin (e.g make a breakthrough in the performance side) by maybe going to an acting lesson. I said she should either perform for the audience or forget the audience and just concentrate on Vincent, let herself go. On Saturday she did the later. I think it was a combination of the fear her being in the bottom two previously, the dance suiting her and her just losing her inhibitions. Whatever it was she was electric. The chemistry and connection between her and Vincent was so compelling. Such beautiful lines, wonderful use of her arms, her whole body connected and moving in unison. Her and Vincent really looked like they wanted eachother. I loved their dance. She was trembling from the emotion of it as she aproached the judges.
Now Rachel please always lose your inihibitions. But I don't for a moment believe her fiance is fine with her and Vincent doning such an intimate dance as he said he was. He always looks so miserable when the cameras pan to him. Anyway well done Rachel.

Ahhh nice positive post

I'm thrilled that Rachel is finally winning people over. Let's hope she and Vincent can keep up this new found form all the way to the final where they deserve to be

Yes she did! I'm thrilled for her. I wonder if acting lessons earlier on would have speeded up the shift. The dance was fantastic.

Yes she did, even if I think she's been good throughout the show.
But this dance was hot steamy, wonderful and they connect so well with each other.

I'm so excited to see what she does next. It's like a new Rachel. And I can't wait to see her on ITT she will have so much confidence now.

I don't want to sound like some kind of perv, but was it just me or did it really look like Rachel was exposing more through her top than you would normally see at 8.15 on a Saturday evening?

To put some geographic perspective on things, on Rachel's right hand side, there is a definitely a, ahem, darker patch visible. Particularly clear at the early section of the dance where she wriggles in front of Vincent and he runs his hands down her sides.

I even shared this thought with my wife (and we re-watched the show) and she agreed that it was either a) a very see through top or b) some very very badly placed stitching which was indistinguishable from a very see through top.

I think it was quite nasty of Rachel complaining about people preferring John to her - its time she grew up. I didn't think her dance was better than Austins

There is such a desperation from her and Lisa that its quite off putting. Its that face she does when shes dancing, it makes me cringe.

Rachel is too desperate for me and her dancing is very clinical......

She really wants to be there. But doesn't come across as desperate to me. She was clinical, previously. But now with that Rhumba, she definately wasn't, it was so emotional. I've changed my view on her, she was thrilling to watch on Saturday.

On ITT they said that they basically sew the dresses onto leotards. Which you wouldn't be able to see through..

I thought there dance as "a...ma...zing" she always promised but never really delivered!

I'm not the biggest ballroom fan though I love freestyle Latin it takes quite a bit for me to go wow and I did.

Vincent is brilliant at the Latin stuff.

I get desperation from Lisa almost every time she speaks, but not from Rachel.

Rachel has been completely upstaged by civil war. What a time to waste a score of 39!

Rachel has done exceptionally well with her rhumba. She deserves all the tens she's got.

You go girl! May this breakthrough last!

I agree - I think it may be her breakthrough dance - but I have liked all of them so far - I think she has to score high each week now (they all do) - she is the only femail celeb IMO who can tackle ALL the dances - and I just love Vincent's choreography - that Rumba was breathtaking.

I thought she would be great right from the start of the series and now she is. Hope that the public start to get behind Rachel & Vincent as I think they've got a lot more to give.

I agree. I'm hoping that rumba will have given her the confidence to go out every week and really perform. I've liked them from the start, and I'm glad they are finally living up to expectations.

Weird how there are more comments about a 'bad' dancer than someone who gets 39/40.

I have no faves and thought Rachel and Vincent were stunning on SAturday and well deserved their marks.

Way to go girl!

Agree, it was a lovely dance. She is a delightful girl. I knew she had it in her.
