Ducking while asking a voting question

right doned my tin helmet, and dug my trench so hopefully safe.

If you are upset about this weeks vote did you vote for your favorite dancer, the same person you vote for each week regardless of dance?
Or do you judge the dances alone?
Or does your choice of favorite affect your vote?

Just wondered as Ive seen posts saying I post for XXX no matter what, I always post for XXX at least 14 times no matter waht?

Then complain when the votes dont go there way

All these competitions should have a one phoneline one vote format.

I don't vote. I just stand well back and watch the fireworks.

This is the way to do it.

Have you read about the Face Book people who have set up a "one click and you vote 100 times for John"? They were on 5Live talking about it. No wonder he isn't getting knocked off the contest.

I do, at least once, then I feel I have the right to moan if it doesn't go my way. Just like political elections.

I was goint to raise a similar point OP.

I wonder how many of those outraged at Cheri's departure actually picked up the phone and voted for her?

It's no good blaming John's voters. They can spend their money voting for who they like.

I only vote for the dances that really excite me and I really enjoy. I thought the standard was so high this week, not only did I vote for the first time this series, but I voted 3 times, for Aystin, Tom and Jodi

I always vote and vote for more than one person usually depending on why I am voting.

On Saturday John got a vote because I loved his AS and wanted to register my anger at all the bullying and nastiness that went on last week and will probably go on this week.

Cherie got 5 votes because I have liked her from the start and I thought she was in danger of being in the dance off (I was right)

Jodie got 3 votes because I love her and Ian as a couple and they seem to be one of the only couples taking it in the right spirit (much like John & Kristina actually) so she gets at least one vote nearly every week.

I have in past weeks voted for Austin when Craig gave him a 5 for his Rumba as I thought that was unfair and Christine when I thought she was in danger and I had liked her dance.

I would vote for Rachel if I felt she needed a vote and I liked her dance.

I would not vote for Lisa or Tom as I just dont like them much, which makes me sad as I love Camilla but there you go.

I voted once for every single act because I thought they were all excellent this week and deserved to come back.

I'm shocked and lost for words. So each facebook member can click once and throw 100 votes his way? I know I'm a technophobe but I didn't know it was possible.

I was going to start a similar thread, because, although I haven't actually voted for anyone so far this series, if I HAD I would have voted for different people every week. I don't have a favourite and have chosen my favourite each week purely on what I've seen on my TV. I find it quite interesting that some people vote for a celeb whatever their dance - sure Cherie's rhumba WAS lovely (probably my favourite of that week), but her salsa stank.

Didn't know you could do that is insane.

From the point of view of SCD doesn't really really matter but from the point of view of X-Factor and I'd do anything etc the winner could hypothetically be voted for by ten people a million times....

I know it’s not likely but it’s possible....so how many albums/theatre tickets will the ten buy?

I know it's a mad hypothetical but the fact is if someone who is second getting ten unique votes, from ten different voters inspired to pick up the phone for them is a better/true winner, rather than one voter voting twenty times for the person who is first.

It has to be a joke. What do they mean, one click of the mouse? If there is something going on the producers of SCD should be informed.

Well I have looked all over their facebook site and I cant see where this is and on the message board they are talking about phoning to vote 5 times or 6 times or whatever nothing about his automated multiple voting so I think its a load of rubbish.

There was an article in a local Derbyshire paper saying that Toms family are voting 100 times each per week and thats probably the same for all the celebs family and friends so whats the difference really. Oh yes silly me its John and therfore its automatically wrong.

I voted for Jodie. Because I actually thought she was good in her QS. I tried to vote for others but my phone ran out of credit!

I wouldn't vote for John because, though he's improved, he's really not up to par with others that night, even Cherie's cha-cha, though weak, was more accomplished than John's AS (touching choreography though).

Oh, I didn't vote using landline because I was in the process of moving into a new home, and my phone line was not installed until today (Monday).

The facebook scam, if true, is indeed deplorable. Those sick, sick souls doing such thing to poor John.

I don't vote.

It's a game show dammit, the winner gets a shiney glitterball ...... is it really something we should all be getting so worked up about?

You are joking?

So your 8 votes mean absolutely nothing as they have all cancelled each other out.

I never vote.
My favourite is Cherie.
People are perfectly entitled to vote for whomever they want as often as they wish to.
I'm disappointed but not upset.

She must be Pauline Quirk. She did the exact same thing last series and I was like .

I'm the same.

Though I do think a one vote per phoneline rule would be the fairest way to do this. Unfortunately that would mean only voting for one person which I did a few times last series. Hmmm.....

Unlikely to ever happen though, they want as many people spending their money as possible

I don't vote because I live outside the UK but I said from the start that while I didn't want John to be out immediately, I didn't want him to get through to the final (or even semi-final) either.

In the early weeks, I'd probably have voted for him, along with any other couple whose performance I particularly liked in any week. I don't think I'd vote for any couple more than once a week though, I'm not willing to waste that much money on phone voting.

I decided a week or two ago that we were at the stage of the competition where I'd prefer only the best dancers to be left so I'd have stopped voting for John when I made that decision.

I don't think he should still be in but I'm not getting all worked up by it either. It's not the end of the world, no one died, it's only a celeb dance competition. Personally, much as I enjoy SCD, I don't think it's worth the amount of fuss that's being made both for and against John still being in the comp.

I also think that the phone vote should either be only between the four contestants with the lowest judges' scores that week or else the public vote should be worth no more than 25% of the score instead of the present 50% but I know that the BBC is never going to do that because they must be loving the publicity and the revenue they're getting from the phone votes of all the voters who are voting several times each week.

Hi Gill,

I take it ou mean the interview just before 7am?

I caught it as well and there were no references to one click 100 votes. Also I've just checked the Facebook groups and can find nothing about this either. So I think you might have misheard.

ETA - Just listened again on iplayer to double check(interview is at 52 minutes) and there wasn't any mention of this.

Also this would have been technically impossible!!
