What did your partner first cook you?
I always find it a pivotal moment in a new relationship when you get that stage of cooking for the new bf/gf!
Can you remember the best (and worst) meals you've been served by a new partner trying to impress? I remember an ex a long long time ago said he'd cook for me, and he served up Findus crispy pancakes and beans. I wouldn't have minded, but he went on about it like he was Gordon Ramsay! That and the XBox meant he had to go... |

Oh bless my ex cooked me some kind of tinned new potatoes with the driest pork chops ever - I can't remember what he served with it? All I rememeber is the potatoes were served 10 mins before the chops (with hindesight he would have been better taking the chops out and serving everything together LOL) it wasn't great!! He did make a lovely homemade chocolate mousse though.
Another ex actually tried to teach me to cook but I used to get bored and wonder out of the kitchen??? He could knock up a few dishes but was lazy and we used to live on kebabs and crap in the end??? ![]() My current BF can't cook, although he did manange to serve me scrambled eggs on toast one Xmas Eve . His only other dish is steak, mash potatoes and garlic greens beans - which is actually delish and he'll do that every now and then as a treat. I am working on him though and he can now perfect a nice spag bol and sweet & sour chicken....

I'm glad to say over the years he is improving! |

I have been married for 3 years and with my hubby for about 10years in total. He cooked for me for the first time a month or so back after hearing Jamie Oliver on Radio one - Chicken Korma and it was delicious. Sadly it has never been repeated and probably never will!!

When I first met my husband he claimed to be a fantastic cook who cooked every meal in his old house. Well, I dont believe him !!!!
He did try and cook me a baked alaska (very adventurous) when we first met, which was OK. But he has never attempted it since. |

My boyfriend doesn't really cook and never has done, although after we'd been together a couple of years he did once cook me some pasta which he mixed up with cubed edam, some salami slices and a chopped tomato - and it was actually quite nice!
He's probably only cooked for me 5 times in 10 years though although the last couple of times have been a bit more adventurous - a spanish chicken stew last Valentine's and roasted pork with rosemary and garlic a couple of years before that! |

My wife cooked for me once about 20 years ago. I can't remember what it was but it ensured I never let her near my cooker from that day to this!

I love cooking (and eating) and would love to cook proper meals for my boyfriend. He hates eating, however, and is the world's fussiest eater. I have been allowed to make him toast, but that's about it. He never cooks and mostly lives on cheese sandwiches and apples. It's quite depressing.

Blimey. He must be malnourished. I hope you weren't hoping to have a long-term relationship with him

Spaghetti Bolognese too, it must be the only thing men can make.

I can't remember my ex ever cooking for me when we first met, but a few years down the line he did stuffed peppers with cous cous and salad. Nothing monumental ![]() Edit: I remembered, we'd take turns in doing a Sunday morning fry-up a few months after I met him and movedin with him. I don't eat meat though, so mine only ever consisted of beans, mushrooms, eggs and plum toms. Oh, and toast.
