Peter Mandelson - Strictly Come Menacing

I think he is probably a very good dancer, judging by his posture and walk. And I'd love to see his tango.

But the judges would never dare give him less than 10s. He just has that indefinable air of knowing where they live, and wouldn't it be a great pity if any misfortune ever befell them. The public would have to watch their step too. Imagine getting the late night phone call; "I'm very disappointed to hear that you haven't voted for me. Let's try to find a solution to this problem".

Mandy will be SO unpopular with the public but maybe a good dancer, so he will get so few public votes he will be in the dance-off a lot. The judges might have to save him a few times.

No matter how badly he dances, Mandy is sure to to get the votes of Bruno and Craig. Not sure about the shy and sensitive Len Goodman - he'll probably be searching for his Number 2 paddle!

If you are referring to their sexual orientation, I think that's a rather presumptious, sexist and unfair comment to make about Craig and Bruno.

At the surgery we are now providing free inoculations for sensitive souls. Please feel free to pop in any time.

I agree. We'd have a reversal of the Sergeant situation - the public complaining about the judges' votes! I can't imagine him lasting once he has to do the latin dances though. Yuk I'd not like to see him in the comp.

All three are quite open about their (homo)sexual orientation, so no need to protect them. Bruno has been with the same partner for many years, Craig had a long-term partnership which ended last year and Mandelson has a Brazilian (?) partner, also pretty long-term.

John Prescott on SCD would really be something.
You seen him doing the "robot" dance at a party?

Well I thought the point he was making was that gays don't automatically vote for one another, not about whether they were "out" or not. Seems reasonable enough to me. Equally, I think the original poster was just making a light-hearted comment, not implying some clandestine gay conspiracy - though I do wonder what the reaction would be if someone joked that a black judge would tend to vote for a black contestant.

Isn't it bad enough that the snout-in-trough slimeball is back in British politics without him despoiling light entertainment too?

I'm pretty sure it's Bruno who split with his partner; unless, both of them have.

Oh yes that was funny. Prescott and Mandelson for Strictly 2009

Here is Prescott dancing on TV Burp for those who might want to see http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BOzbXi...eature=related. About 2 minutes in.

A few days after Peter Mandelson indicated that he would like to take part and indicated that "it would be nice to be asked", a certain contestant tipped as a possible winner announces his shock resignation from Strictly.

Will The Dark Lord stop at nothing?

When I saw the original post it was hard to refrain from "Strictly Come Mincing" but I did. Now I just remembered how Craig called Tom's first dance "a bit mincey"... do you think he would bother saying that to a fellow "bandit" or was he trying to "Out" Tom perhaps?
