I have this player and i have a recording on the HDD that is 2hrs 11 mins. I want to get it onto 1 dvd. How/is there a way to do this?

Are you assuming a dvd will only hold 2 hours of content?

If so that isn't the case it will hold much more than 2 hours of footage.
Isn't there a custom recording section within options which lets you enter the amount of minutes you want to record to disc?

here you are,from the review of your recorder it mentions adjusting recording length.

"The DMR-EH50 offers four standard recording modes which give you between 1-8 hours recording onto single sided media, as well as a flexible recording mode that'll adjust data rates to give you the best possible rate based on the amount of space available on a disc"

i know i can use more than 2 hrs on a dvd but i cant think of a way to put it onto dvd. I have tried using flexible record but it wont let me

Follow the sequence on page 46 of your manual... and at step 4 select the FR mode.
