I am in the middle of some serious track rating in iChoons which got me thinking...what is your absolute top rated album...do you have any album that every track merits 5* ?

I don't although I am quite strict in rating my choons..I think the closest I come is Randy Newman - Land of Dreams which merits a mix of 5* and 4*...so any 100% 5* albums in your collection ?

I was actually thinking of doing that myself, rating albums in my "iChoons" library track by track. I'll let you know which work out at 5 stars overall.

This is my rating system by the way

***** Outstanding, brilliant, amazing etc

**** Really Good, Above Average, Respectable etc

*** Good but nothing special.

** Ok, nothing special, below average

* Total crap, rubbish, pointless etc.

Not even close and not even if I include the "Best of" albums...

I'm not one of those who has ever idolised one person and then thought that they could do no wrong - it just doesn't work that way for me.

Even the greatest of the greats release stuff that they should never have touched with a barge pole!

Recently Anna Netrebko came closest with Violetta - Arias & Duetts from La Traviata... Particularly as Violetta is my absolute favourite operatic role, but even then there is the odd track I'm less keen on than the others.

Bic Runga's "Beautiful Collision" is the only album that comes close to an all 5 star album for me and even that doesn't quite make it

I've always thought 'Silk and Steel' was a good 5 Star album.

We share the same rating system..I use the same criteria then I make smart playlists that always discards 1* and most 2*'s ( I let the occasional 2* sneak thru' in an effort to redeem themselves but 1*'s are never heard again...I just don't delete them so I can keep albums intact ).

Remember..a 5* album aint enuff..its got to be every track merits 5*'s

Anyone who has such an album, I'll feel compelled to check out to see if it floats my boat

I've never tried to make a smart playlist myself, I see how you do it and its straight forward enough though. I don't think I will actually have one album where all the songs are 5 Stars.

5 Star albums? Good question.

Daft Punk - Homework.
Daft Punk - Alive 2007.
(In my opinion, 2 flawless albums)

There are no doubt a good few more in my collection, but those are the 2 that immediately spring to mind.
