Don't blame JOhn if people vote for him. Even if he just sat on the stage the public would vote for him.

And why not?
Its been said countless times, if they didn't want him in the competition they shouldn't have signed him up. Did they learn nothing from Christopher Parker in series one? Awful dancer but tried his best week after week dispite some horrible remarks from the judges. As for stories the other strictly dancers aren't talking to him GROW UP! He is not voting for himself. John represents a huge portion of viewers, be they older, fatter or just not great dancers. He has brought more debate and attention to the show than any other which can only be a good thing. Most importantly he has done it with a smile

Some would still vote for him. Most want to see some effort and improvement. He does put in an effort and now he has to put up with all this controversy. It's funny for the onlookers but it can't be all funny for him being stuck in the middle of it. Never in a million years could he have anticipated anything like this!
Anyway he is not going to ask the public not to vote. That would be wrong. It is up to the public whom they vote for. |

I think he'll be relieved when his time is up in SCD. I'm sure he didn't anticipate this furore. It just goes to show how biased this programme is. I feel sorry for his partner who week in week out has choreographed routines that best suit him. He himself said that he didn't want to be in the final and the thought of being in the final is a nightmare.
I just cannot see the comparison with Chris Parker at all. I really feel John is trying the very best he can given the limitations of his age and fitness. The judges have their clear favourites from the start and not in a millions years did they anticipate he would get as far as he has. Good for him for doing so. If this is such a "travesty" then maybe they should change the rules next year and have celebs who are all on a level playing field in terms of age and fitness. How ridiculous this whole thing has become... |

I would have preferred John to exit by asking people to vote for someone else so he could do his "trial by jury" in the danceoff.
Does anyone really think even after a request like that people would go against his wishes...? |

Does anyone really think even after a request like that people would go against his wishes...? The genuine John supporters would do as he requested but the very many people who have been voting for him either to get one over on the judges or because they've placed bets for him to win would carry on voting for him whether he wanted it or not. |
