Puppy survives being hit at 70mph after clinging to car's grille-for over 15 miles

What a lucky pooch :

Quote:
“But Mr Menozzi hit the dog at such speed that it became embedded in the grille under the bonnet of his car.

It lay trapped in the Peugeot 207 and managed to cling on until the car eventually stopped 15 miles further on.”

Link and pic here.

I do hope that the driver is prosecuted though, at the very least he failed to report an accident/hitting a dog - although I'm not sure if reporting hitting an animal such as a dog is a legal requirement in Italy?

Hmmm... I'm thinking not. The Italians aren't much better than the Spanish when it comes to animal welfare. Fools.

Amazing story.

Bloody hell! Poor little dog. Let's hope he gets a great new home. I guess the laws in Italy aren't the same as here, but I think a lot of drivers here don't bother either. I saw a dead dog at the side of the road quite recently, they obviously never bothered to stop either.

Oh, that's awful. I've only seen 2 run-over dogs in my life and both times I cried like a baby. When I see speeding drivers in built-up areas all I can think is "slow down - a wee doggy might run out".
