I was about to say you can't beat a cream tea - scones are amazing. Really amazing.
Do you go for jam first and cream on top, or cream and then jam? |

A warm scone and let the butter melt into it, no jam or cream.

I love scones heated up with the butter melted and jam on top
not too keen on clotted cream, a bit rich for me.

I like savoury scones too; Fresh & Wild used to do one with walnuts and mature cheddar that was amazing!

Fruit scones are my favourite. Cheese scones a close second. Warmed with butter - yum

Cherry scones are the best, closely followed by date and wheaten. Of course the butter needs to be an inch thick to really appreciate them.

Scones are heavenly with a cup of tea on a summers day. There is something quintessentially English about them. Served warm with a big dollop of Cornish clotted cream and some homemade strawberry jam I can think of nothing better.
