Recipe Book
Does anyone think it might be a good idea to start a recipe/ cook book? If anyone needs ideas they can just come and have a look in the cook book
![]() We could make a compilation of favourites and share our ideas... I'll start:- 500g minced beef or lamb 1 large tin of tomatoes a large squirt of tomato puree 4/5 large mushrooms 1 diced onion 1 packet of lasagne sheets White Sauce: 300ml milk 25g butter 25g flour 50g grated cheese (I find it's easier to buy white sauce in a jar) 1) Place meat into saucepan and cook until brown on a medium heat. When brown, drain any fat and add diced onions. 2) Pour in the tin of tomatoes and tomato puree and stir 3) Add in sliced mushrooms and crushed garlic and allow to simmer for a few minutes. 4) Place around a third of the meat into a lasagne dish, with lasagne sheets on top, filling the meat. Place a thick layer of white sauce and continue to layer until all the meat has been used up. 5) Cover with grated cheese and grill in the oven until the cheese has melted. This is one of my faves

It might be a good idea if you gave it a name first, save people having to scan down the ingredients to figure out what it is

Sausage, spinach and pasta bake Quote:
grill some sausages (vegetarian in my case) and chop them up. Fry an onion until soft, stir in sausage pieces with some red wine (about a small glass) and tomato puree. Reduce until thickened. Microwave some spinach and stir it into a cheese or white sauce, bought or homemade.Put half the cooked pasta in an ovenproof dish, then add the sausage sauce. Top with other half of pasta and pour over the sauce. Grate some cheese on top if required and bake in oven until nicely browned

Tagliatelle Carbonara
Ingredients: Olive Oil pinch of salt 1 oz butter 1 onion chopped Pancetta or bacon rashers cut up 4 beaten eggs 3oz of parmesan grated 2 oz Pecorino or Grana Padano grated some chpped basil or parsely to garnish Method: Bring a saucepan of water to the boil, add some salt and a splash of olive oil and cook pasta until just tender. Meanwhile melt the butter with some olive oil and fry the onion and pancetta until crisp then remove from heat. Drain the pasta and add some oil from the onion mixture and stir it into the pasta then add the onion and pancetta and toss well. Make a dip in the centre and add the eggs tossing the pasta constantly over the heat until the eggs have just cooked (approx 2 mins) Keep a third of the parmesan to the side and add the rest with the pecorino to the pan, spoon on to plates and use the remaining cheese to garnish with the herbs. Lock the door, take the phone off the hook and enjoy. |
