i have often wondered that - who actually uses MP3 cd's and Audio CD's on their DVD Player.

I do however use my dvd player to play JPEG Discs, VideoCD's, but i have never tried the multi-region feature as i have no multi region discs

I sometimes burn off a selection of MP3s/WMAs onto a CDRW and go listen to them in bed

i think that would be quite useful if you had good audio on your TV. just wondering how large cd's would work - i guess there is a built in "tree" style navigation system ?

That's what mine's like. Supports pretty much all bandwidths, even VBR

Blimey! my portable mp3 player doesn't even sort VBR (but it is goodmans)

Let's see, DVD, CDA, CD mp3, VCD and that's all I've tried. Yeah it plays CDR too, didn't seem to like CDRW though.

Mine does
MP3's* - annoyingly it uses the file names to display - nice when your filenames are a mess but you have spent hours correcting the ID3 tags! And exoctic characters like é break the name down, meaning that letter is missing, as are the following ones
To access a song - foldername - filename

DVD-R
DVD+R
DVD+RW
DVD-RW
CD-R*
CD-RW*
VCD*
SVCD*
Audio CD's*
Region 1 DVD's*
Region 2 DVD's*
Region 3 DVD's
Region 4 DVD's*
Region 5 DVD's
Region 6 DVD's
Region 0 DVD's
Region 1 RCE DVD's
JPEG Discs*
I think it might do Kodak Picture Discs too but i'm not sure...
my dads got the newer version which IIRC also plays WMA and WMA/MP3 combo discs....

I've used all the *'ed ones - Seams to cope better with my scratched CD's - and saves having the PC whiring away to play MP3's

Video Discs dont play in mine, but almost anything else does

its a Yelo thing that I found in a skip with a PSU fault, complete with remote and battery , and was fixed for a £2 component

Bitchin ! (and it has manual disable of the macrovision via the remote)

I downloaded this program for mine, just put it on a laptop with infra-red, and it send special codes to it, and makes it multi region and turns macrovision off

I do! We don't have a hi-fi anymore, just use the DVD player. Plus it will play SACD's
