It has been confirmed that the new Joseph is Gareth
http://www.whatsonstage.com/index.ph...+from+Lee+Mead He takes over on February 9th so I assume the understudy Ricky Rojas will be taking the lead until then! |

Just read the news on Gareth's site. This is fantastic. He'll make a great Joseph.
Time to start saving the pennies again I think

I am really happy Gareth has taken over. It's nice to see him getting another chance at fame. I remember watching a documentary about him and thinking he was a total sweetheart.
Well done Gareth! ![]() ![]()

I'm delighted with Gareth getting the part.
Well done to him. I feel today for the Lee Mead fans too, because it must be a sad day for them seeing the coat being handed over. Who is this Ricky guy? Has he stepped in for Lee recently? |

I was dissapointed by the choice of the new Joseph (Gareth Gates). I had heard rumors for ages that it was going to be different people but fianally it has been revealed. I personally think that Keith Jack should have taken over, he's ready to do it and I think he eould make a perfect Jospeh (not that I'm bias in anyway at all) I'm sure Gareth will do really well as Jospeh and he will have the time of his life and I hope Lee has fun doing what he is going to do next.

Keith seems to be working hard at making a career away from Joseph and think its right that they are not using any of the guys from the show.

Congrats to Gareth, who I'm sure will do a great job!
I doubt Keith would have taken the role, even if it had been offered to him. He's forging his own career path and doing well. I look forward to hearing about Lee's next venture - I suspect we could well be witnessing the birth of a major star! |

Congrats from me too to Gareth for taking over the role of Joseph. I know he will be wonderful in the part and I look forward to being able to see him in the show. I think this was a great choice. Also congrats to Gareth and his wife Suzanne on their news that they will be parents in 2009. It certainly is going to be a busy and wonderful year for Mr Gates. Thoroughly deserved.
Love Siouxsie PS Best wishes to Lee for the future too. I won't lie and say I am a huge Lee fan but I know that he would be fantastic in the role of Jesus in Jesus Christ superstar and if the rumours are true, this would suit him so well as I think he could really bring his strong acting skills into play and also would be very dramatic which I think is a major strength of his. |
