Christine, I don't think so as much, she's on prime time tv every night. I think that BBC employees have their arm twisted a little.
Cherie, yes, I think she did it to further her career, I suppose older women do find it harder to get their names out there.
Tom, definitely.
Andrew Castle, nope, just think he was the latest GMTV to have their arm twisted, a little like Christine.
Austin, probably. He finished rugby, got a job in a bank, didn't like it. He could probably do any number of things though, like public speaking, it's very lucrative and I imagine he would be very good at it. But maybe he wants a tv profile?
Don, same as Cherie probably.
John, I don't think so. He's winding down from all of his political stuff, he probably thought, oh it'll be fun for 2 weeks.
Jessie did it for the publicity as did Gillian I would imagine.
Phil Daniels, I have no idea.
Gary, his ego led him, I think.
Lisa, again I'm not sure, she's on Capital's breakfast show, but I guess it could raise her profile.
But Rachel, I suppose, is the most obvious as needing a new career. Her pop career failed, she's not doing anything else. She needs the publicity the most, I would guess.
I've probably forgotten a few though.”
I agree that the GMTV ones have their arms twisted a bit to keep up the shows profile v. the Beeb but the others are all in it for their careers. Jodie had a major personality 'rehab' job to do after the NOTW revelations (which appears to have been successful!), Christine has been mentioned as allegedly gunning for a much higher profile job soon to be available (

, Austin got fed up with Credit Suisse and clearly wants the opportunity of media work, and even John, having retired from the political reporting is getting a light entertainment career off the ground (hosting a show on one of the non terrestrials, I think). Nothing wrong with any of it. Slightly surprising that, having got Alesha's PR, they didn't advise her to be a bit more 'economical with the truth'. Alesha's tale of doing it for fun, get over the divorce etc was much more appealing than the fact that she had a stalled music career.
