A good couple will still leave on Sunday - so what was the point?

I dont really get this.

All it has done is ensured a "good" couple leave on Sunday. At least with Jonn still in there was a chance he might go, but now its certain.

So, who is this helping?

Exactly what someone just said to me at work!

Shame he didn't stay until then and ask to be voted out really.

I don't think anyone will go, they know we hate two people finals. I'm hoping they do what DWTS do and announce who would have left, although the public won't vote much for that!

They haven't been sensible in previous years, I don't hold out much hope for sense this week!

Because people would have voted for him just as much, possibly more. Look at how many people have taken this to be his being 'forced out'. It's not as if he's going because he's ill, he's going to because he's 'not wanted' - if he'd stood on the show and said he wasn't wanted people would have been redialling like mad.

The only way he can stop people voting is not to stand at all, and if he's going to do that he has to do it before the votes come in, not after, or people have already spent their money voting.

I think this is a great shame and it should never have been whipped up like this, but as it was John could either stay or drop out - he can't control the vote.

do you honestly think the public would be that kind? I bet he would get triple the votes if he asked to leave.

In the bigger scheme of things him pulling out has little to do with this weeks coming show. All it does is ensure he doesn't win the whole thing. If his real concern was that he could win it (something I doubt) then its better that he leave sooner rather than later.

I personally feel that he would have got voted off eventually anyway but we'll never know if and when it would have happened.

As for the show little will change except it will be a two couple in the final rather than three.

They can't remove the competition element from this week surely?

They might carry over the total score (judges plus votes) to the following week, they did this in the US version when someone pulled out injured.
